that may be possible, I just don't see how my stock clutch is holding my 420 ft lbs. But also, it can be a matter of break in, driving style.

I had 18K miles on my 05 VIII's stock clutch when I had my car tuned on race gas and made 322whp on a mustang dyno. I drove another 2K miles and a bunch of 6 thousand RPM 2 step launches and my stock clutch held up pretty well. I even launched back to back to back one night on race gas and my clutch still didn't go to crap, it just smelt like it for about 15 min. I guess I got one of the good ones.

If you are going full throttle when you release the clutch then it will go sooner, you need to roll into it when you slip the clutch.

I just hit 20k on the stocker with upgraded power via WORKS. Still grabs like an old man backstage at a bikini contest.

the stock clutch can last for a while if you don't beat on it.

like mentioned above by fimotorsports let the clutch cool down after every pass. I had my stocker last around 100 passes and 30k+ miles before I put my twin disk in.

what eventually killed my stock clutch was doing 6 hot lap drag passes with low 1.7 - 60's and no cool down time. On the track the clutch still would grab fine, when I left the track on the highway in 5th gear it was slipping bad.

with practice you can get some good 60s on the stocker, then when you upgrade you'll be that much better on your new clutch.

56k on my 03, still holding fine with my 35R on pump gas. Probably a total of 20 launches.

I've got a little over 40K on my car and it hasn't slipped once. I don't race the car and only launch hard on occasion. Car has basic bolt-on's and like 290WHP. I hope it lasts a bit longer!

25K on mine, tracked about 50 passes and a few on the street as well. I think I glazed it the last time I was out though so have not launched since.
