First time to the track in my new IX rs

Andy at SpeedElement got me set up with a road tune this week. I havent had the chance to strap it to a dyno yet, and Im not in a big hurry to, but it would be nice to get a wideband on it. My mods are a tb exaust, mbc (spiking 23 psi and falling to 19 at redline), drop in filter, licp and andy's pump gas flash.

I just got back from the drag strip and here is what it ran.

12.017 @ 113.7mph w/ a 1.695 60'

I still cant believe how well this car runs on pump. My best mph for the day was a 114.4 and my best 60' was a 1.68. If I could have put those two together Im sure it would have been a 11.9x

Again big thanks to Andy and Cal for getting me the parts I needed to make it to the track this weekend.

Now I just need to get a true 3" catback and then it should be running 11's consistantly on pump.

The cobra has ran a 10.7 @ 132mph on drag radials, so its a tad bit quicker as of now

Agggh, the dreaded 12.0 @ 113.7 like myself. However, if you trapped 114.4, then yours is powerful enough to hit 11s on a perfect run, so you'll get it. This is surprising power on 91oct out in Cali. People are always complaining about sucky tracks and how the gas sucks, but these numbers are on par with 93oct cars in good conditions on good tracks at sea level.

What happened to your VIII?

Congrats. The best I ever did on pump here in Cali was 12.2 at 111.9 back in my TME 6.5 turbo, AMS intercooler, 272/264, Vishnu Xede days... Those 9s are no joke.

This was at sac, and the scales weren't working so I don't know how much the car weighs. Track prep wasn't great today, but the DA was. It was close to -1000 so that was a big part of my trap speed. I was having to drive through the water box and do a rolling burnout just so it would hook off the line, which is something I have never done before. But it worked great.

And the 8 was my wife's car, which she decided to sell a few months ago. Its good to be back in the evo, and since this one is mine I'll be able to do a few more things to it this time around.

Ya the 12.0 was a major bummer. If I would have just ran 2 hundredths of a second faster I would have been much happier. On one of my last passes I saw the 1.68 60' flash up on the board and I was thinking this is an 11, but it ended up being another 12.0x
