Its looks like that is the case BUT keep in mind..... some of those guys are still running small turbo's. Like Trevor... he runs our old 20G-9 turbo. Not the LT.

And the fact that my 11.5 was my second time drag racing ever, my times can only get better as i plan to be in the 10's when the snow melts.

i was just more or less wondering what i might be looking at in terms of 1/4 mile time but it seems no one is running this serious of a set up on a 6 speed

And that's because it makes very little sense to have such a huge turbo when your 4th gear is so short. You will have to shift to 5th to fully utilize that turbo, and shifting to 5th is a killer. The 2.4 may move your powerband enough to be ok, but I still think you'll run out of usable gearing in 4th. Are those 880s enough for a 40r? I know the 40r didn't do nearly as well as 42Rs when big shops tested it, but I still would think it needed at least 1000ccs, no?

Have you talked to Shep or TRE about this? There is no room for gears any bigger than the tiny ones that are already in there (4-6).

I have not yet and that sux. I thought i saw somewhere that HKS had taller gears for the 6 but i could be wrong. I really do like the 6 speed and im going to do what i can to keep it in my car. I just remember my '03 tranny being really notchy, i could never shift as fast with that as i can with my 6 speed.

Well don't take my word for it, but I have seen both of them comment on it, and of course Shep and I had long conversations about it when deciding what to do with my busted 6spd. I don't think you should hang onto your 6spd just because your 03 was notchy. If you had a built 5spd from Shep, which will probably be a good idea with all the power you're making while trying to run 10s, you will forget the meaning of the word "notchy." LIke you, my 6spd was dreamy with the shifting as long as the fluids were fresh and the clutch wasn't on its way out, but my Shep 5spd is even better, so keep that in mind. If you never plan to even build the 6spd, then it will be the easiest to shift, but it will likely limit you in your quest for 10s, and it will probably eventually rip the teeth off 4th gear. Food for thought...

Thanx for the info, I also have heard from a couple of friends that the shep 5 speeds are really smooth. I guess I'm not going to worry too much about it until i break my current trans. I do think that 10's are attainable even though the 4-5 shift is a killer (and i know what you mean). Maybe i'll be one of the firsts to do it on a 6 but i will do it...

Don't have the LT yet, but the magic 8 ball says "get one ASAP"

And all this B.S. about the 6 speed being weak! watch DragNRacing's vids, he shifts that thing so fast/good you would think it was a sequential!!!!!!!!!!!!
