Cal Speedway is 1/4 mile and open once a month on the weekend, LACR (which is crap) is open every week. Famoso Raceway is a little out of the way, but perhaps one of the best tracks in So Cal, as long as cars aren't breaking and spilling sh*t all over the track. Mopar Drag City should be open sometime this year (fingers crossed) and will be open every week, I think two to three times a week for test and tune (don't quote me on that).
BANNING - Builders of a drag-racing facility south of Banning Municipal Airport are excited about their progress and hope to be open by June or July. Seven years in the planning and approval process, Drag City will include a quarter-mile regulation drag strip and bleacher seating for up to 10,000 people on about 60 acres, said Andy Marocco, Drag City president. City Manager Randy Anstine said he still receives calls from a few residents who are concerned about anticipated noise and traffic around Drag City. But the project is moving forward with the city's support, Anstine said. "In reality, noise created by vehicles at the track will be driven straight up," Anstine said, noting the drag strip will be about 50 feet below surface streets in a V-shaped contour. Anyone who remains concerned about Drag City can pick up a copy of the city's environmental- impact report on the project, Anstine said. "It's going to be a great economic driver for the city," Anstine said. "It's going to bring not only tourists and race fans, but the developer is going to build an industrial complex adjacent to the race facility." The complex could include builders of hot-rod engines and chassis, race-related parts and supplies, apparel - "anything automotive or high-performance," Marocco said. The $10 million facility will be marketed to youngsters and adults regionwide who race cars, trucks, motorcycles and other vehicles, Marocco said. "We plan to be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for people who want to race anything," Marocco said. "We're looking forward to being a good neighbor and a premium destination for race enthusiasts from all over Southern California." Drag City officials are talking to several sanctioning organizations, including the National Hot Rod Association and the International Hot Rod Association.

I have seen worse 60's for first timer - so not bad. And remember reaction time doesnt matter for fun runs. Do practice getting the launch down and finding the shift points. And like I said in another post of yours, that intake is bad, and more than likely hurting the performance - esp. w/o a tune...

Yeah, nothing wrong with the DP itself, but it's useless the way it is now. He has a terrible combo of mods that are doing nothing for the car except maybe hurting it. Hopefully, his car came that way, and he didn't actually waste money on those parts new.
