119mph on 9.8

I'd like to know how tough it is to trap 119 mph in an Evo VIII with the following mods

XEDE piggyback
9.8 hotside(unported)
26 PSI
264i,272e
stock injectors
stock TB
stock IC
AMS LICP
stock manifold(unported)
K&N panel
SSO2
TBE
Vishnu camgears
109 octane
no meth
no N2O
3100lbs. plus driver
no headwork
7900 RPM shifts

I don't see it happening, but my buddy says that a car with similar mods has done it and that it's been posted here on this forum. I tried searching but couldn't find anything. I can't see much more than 114mph for the above modlist...maybe 115, tops.

Thanks for the response. Was it in the winter with low ambient air temps?

Impressive. 117 w/o drugs through an unported 9.8, on a hot day! EGT's must have been way up there, though.

It has happened a few times, but it's very rare.

Ive done 117mph 2 or 3 times with a 9.8hs and 110octane .

I think the 3100lbs is playing a big roll also .

btw 7900rpms is way high .

With no meth or nitrous on 109, a 119mph trap speed will be pretty tough. On a really agressive C16 tune it might happen.

Race gas will do that. It works wonders. I wish I tried using it when I was at the track to see what sort of sillyness I could have pulled out on it

I did it. 119.6mph, 11.9xx ET. At that time I had the following:
AEM EMS tuned by Tym Switzer
HKS 280's
Hallman MBC - 25-26psi spike on C16
RMR LICP
AMS IC
3" Switzer UICP
BR 3" TBE w/ test pipe
Exedy Hyper Twin Disc clutch
17x9 FN01R-C's
Azenis RT 615's 275/40/17
full weight car w/leather, sunroof and 230# driver
stock intake mani, injectors, ignition, exhaust mani, o2 housing, head, shortblock, etc. . .

It is my opinion that the taller-than-stock 275/40/17 tires helped my gearing and made this possible.

I am gonna have stop being such a pessimistic doubter. There are some really fast people on this forum and even with the 9.8 hotside. I am amazed. Congrats all!

guys do you use 5th gear?

if i calculated correctly with my current rev limiter (7802rpm) max speed is 118mph so to go higher i need to change into 5th, thus losing time...
