A simply wicked launch..
reminds me of the video on Heffner's Performance website of 1 of their customer's twin turbo Dodge Viper running 8.65@163. str8 nasty indeed.
what no one has mentioned is how LITTLE time it has taken since the EVO came to the US to run domestic smashing times in the 8-10sec range. i give props to all the heads out there running 10.99 & below & ESPECIALLY if u have a full street trim car. how many performance domestics have ran these times in less than 4 years of hitting the dealers????
& if there are domestics that did, how many of them are RELIABLE???

And as far as domestics are concerned I am by no means a lover of domestics but back then when most of the domestic muscle cars came available we didnt even have the technology to run such times. Your talking about 40+yrs ago when such muscle cars came out like the mustang, cuda, camaro, gto, corvette, charger, dart, cordova, thunderbird, and many more. So thats not a very fair anology to make.
IMHO I think muscle cars have a very huge advantage in going fast in a straight line and being reliable than any other 4banger. However, with that said what our cars have that they will never possess is the ability to be versatile and do it all good.

HOLY DOGSH*T @ the launch...wow mind bending
That 60 foot is pretty good, but seeing Curt Brown pull a 1.28 (IIRC) in his old talon in person was one of the highlights of my racing life.
Unreal how hard he comes out of the hole... It's also worth mentioning that the US EVOs are very similar to the DSMs that have been here for 17 years, so we've had a bit of a head start IMO.
