1/8 Mph Correct???

Ok guys I finally got into the 11s with an 11.96@ 114 but my 1/8 MPH is only 87 88. For the mods I have I think I should be trapping higher in the 1/4 and the 1/8. Check out the thread. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=257640

It depends on where you shift, your gearing, your tires, and maybe even the placement of the lights.

Im shifting right at 7200 everytime. The thing I can't understand is so slow in the front 1/8 but then it picks up 26mph in the back 1/8.

Sup man. yeah that does seem low to me. We had damn close times and mph in the quarter but i was doing 92.99 in the 1/8th. I ran 1.771-60ft 7.690-1/8th 92.990mph 10.058-1000ft 11.975-1/4 @114.830. Could be cause you DEAD hooked though! lol

That also got me puzzled... I have done 88 1/8 and 111 1/4 (Shifted 7000... accident 2-3 and 3-4)

And on another 90 1/8 and 113 1/4 - Good shifting 7200...

I don't know, maybe I it is because im hooking so good that it is affecting my MPH. If I had like a 91 in the 1/8 I can go 11.70s

I think some of it is cause you hook but still should be at 90 or 91. Dunno man just keep trying! Good luck.

Yea, hopefully I can figure it out and get my times down to 11.70s.

I guess it all depends on the cars. There is cars that are doing 92 93 in the 1/8 and 115 116 in the 1/4.

It doesn't work that way. it's all dependent on how you drive, how you launch, how you shift, your powerband, etc etc etc. I hit 90-91 in the 1/8th, but I've never trapped higher than 113. In fact, my times beat you all the way to the 1000', but then you outrun me that last 320' by .06, which gives you an 11 and gives me a frackin 12.000. My car is slower, but I am going faster at the 1/8th due to gearing and shifting.

You won't just randomly hit 11.70s if you hit a 90-91 in the 1/8th. You're too hung up on that detail without understanding that not every Evo hits the same splits. If you hit 90-91 due to gaining 20-30whp, then yeah, you'll probably hit an 11.70, but you won't do it just by figuring out how to change your 1/8th-mile splits.

I said if my car were to pick up on the 1/8 meaning gain hp by finetuning then I can be in the 11.70s that is what I meant. NO ****, I never knew every car was different. Come on man everyone knows that. But whatever criticize anyway.

I could have sworn you trapped 115 116 on race gas. I could be wrong though.

There's not one place in this thread where "gaining hp by finetuning" was discussed. This whole time, you were trying to figure out why you're 1/8th mph was low for the mods and for your 1/4 et/mph. I then quoted you saying that if you could somehow get 90-91 in the 1/8th, then you'd be hitting 11.70s, and it was in the context of your current mph being off for some unknown reason, not in the context of adding power. You again in a different post referenced "figuring it out" in hopes of hitting 11.70 - no tuning or power differences mentioned.

In my 12.000 vid, the scoreboard says 115.7, but they were off by 2+ mph in the left lane that day. I ran a 12.1 @ 112 in the right line on my next run with a spinning 1.7x 60'. The 12.000 was a perfect hook 1.66, but there's no way I trapped almost 4mph higher. It was just a fluke with the scoreboard that day on one side that was consistent with the other Evos who went with me that day.
