SO I had intentions of going to route66 raceway to dragrace my car saturday(today) but thursday I found out that because the weather was bad, test and tune day was cancelled. I was so mad, I waited three weeks and now it was cancelled ahhhhh! Well Friday my buddy with the speed3 looked into another dragstrip and it turned out that the great lakes dragway in wisconsin was opened pending weather. Well this morning we took the chance and went out, boy are we glad we did, gates opened at 10am and when we got there, there was maybe 20-30cars tops. It was great. here are all my times, I got 5 runs in and called it quits, I was sick of smelling clutch lol.
Keep in mind that this is my first manual car and I have been driving it since august......well actually i car pool so I actually phyically driven the car almost 3000miles since I had it.

Holy crap I never thought I would have hit 12's that soon into owning this freakin car......I love this thing, its a beast. I know wiith a better 60" I could have hit lower 12's but thats gonna have to be next time, gotta get that damn clutch smell out the car lol. Well That was my story of the day....... oh and my buddy with the speed3 his best time was a 14.2@ 105Mph...... He was having very bad wheel hop problems but with a trap speed like that its definately a 13 sec car. My buddy has a couple of my vids of the runs. After the day was over and we watched the videos, the dummy that recorded them didnt record all the runs, so I only have the 13.0 and the 13.7 run on vid, I think there was 1 other one.

stock clutch, yeah I was wot the whole time, 1st 2nd 3rd and going to fourth

I only got 4700 miles on the car so hopefully the clutch will last a decent amount.

stock clutch not bad not bad is wot really good for the car or does everyone and there mother do it??

Well I figured to try it since I never did it before and since I was getting mid 13's I figured it wouldnt hurt. Its probably not to good for the trans but you gotta do what ya gotta do to get the best times =)

Honestly though next time I go to the track Im not gonna power shift , I think i'll just speed shift and be done with it.

I ran a 12.9 last night with about the same mods minus the fuel pump. I have a boost controller though. It was the first time I even launched my car and my first run was the best with the 12.9 the rest ranged from 13.014 to a 14.5 missing second. You didnt hit 4th??? I was maxing out 4th going into fifth. Good job thought good luck with the track next time.

Whats everyone's technique on launching this car??? When I was at the tree I used the launch limiter and when the lights turned green I let off the clutch till the car moved and then let completly off, is that pretty much the way to do it?? I think though I was burning the clutch up a little to much.

Nice times man. I got into fourth and was crossing the traps at aroung 6700 rpms, I never had to shift to fifth although the 12.9 run got me to about 6800 or a bit higher when crossing the traps.

The best thing was a 04 or 05 5.7 gto getting spanked by me last night. I was suprised considering he had slicks. That was when I ran a 13.010.

Yeah man, those numbers look almost identical to mine...lol and yeah same here, I raced a couple quick car and they thought I wasnt gonna be able to hang but I did and beat them on top of it...lol

What RPM's are you shifting at? Not bad times considering it was your first time. You showed some good improvement

As for the launch are you launching off the factory limiter or flashed 2-step? Your technique sounds ok, just make sure you are quick-slipping it and not dumping it.
