no I wasnt dumping the clutch I made sure of it, towards the last couple runs I got more comfortable on the pedal point of engaging on the launch so I made sure it was a slip and not a dump. Sekula from here did a road tune for me and set my limiter to I believe 6k. I was shifting pretty much at redline when I was just shifting quick, but on my faster runs power shifting I was shifting at 6700, I gave it a little room to float up so i wasnt hitting the rev limiter. That 12.9 run was with all powershifting 1-4 gears

He's got the mazdaspeed 3 cai, he's got a greddy type-s bov and he's got a prototype tbe, but he didnt have the exhaust on at the track because it was taken off for final production, once they are done he gets it back, Oh he also had the awr 70 motor mount. On his first run he had some wheel hop and it shredded the frickin motor mount, the bottom half was stiff in place so he kept driving it and managed to get the 14.2 out of it and that was taking super slow.

Good try for your first time out. As people already mentioned, keep practicing. Also nice trap speed. Were you still on pump gas?

yeah im running 93. The only thing im worried about is the clutch, how much abuse can it really take??? I've read people getting 20,000+ with track time and some with no track time and getting way less than that. I only got 4700 miles on the clutch so i hope it lasts a decent amount longer. I never launch the car anyways, this was the first time and will only be launched at the track......well if im provoked somewhere else maybe..... lol

I would remove your clutch restrictor to extend the life of your clutch. I know they'll be some people that will be against it, but it just allowed me to control the clutch so much better at my launch. I burned up my clutch at 10,000 miles and would always get some sort of clutch smell. I would never smoke my clutch in my first gen Talon Tsi AWD and would get about 25,000 miles out of a clutch with alot of dragstrip launches. As soon as I removed my clutch restrictor on my Evo, I never smelled burnt clutch again. The ability to control my clutch disengagement at a launch improved you you wouldn't believe.
