i snapped a t bolt in half on the way to work. had to baby my car down the feeder when i was due back at work in 10 minutes and take my bumper off in discount tires parking lot to fix it. i thought it just came off but the tbolt split in half so i couldnt fix it. i just stock the pipe on and babied it to work, then to home later that day and prayed it wouldnt come off till i got home.

FWIW, I still have the stock IC piping and stock, original worm clamps and have no problems despite running 26psi daily and racing a lot. I just put hairspray on the connection points and tighten down the clamps snugly. They're all still holding strong after 2.5 years.

I've heard mixed reviews. It seems like the people that buy this turbo like it, but then immediately go to a bigger one. I'm pretty interested in it cause when I turn 16 it's all about a used evo VIII.

I learned that hairspray trick back when I had my FD......worked very well on small vacuum lines even without clamps or zip ties!

i ran an 11.80@116. before that i ran a 12.0@11 but i had a leaking o2 pipe gasket that bad i found out when i swapped out the turbo. i believe this turbo is good for an 11.6 in the 1/4 with my setup. just need to work some more with my race map to get it right. if you have any questions just shoot me a pm......

Why do you say that? We all have to start some where right? I just hope that by the time I get my license I'll have the money saved up to put down on one. (I'm at about 4,500 right now from mowing lawns and working as a sacker). My parents said if I can stay at the top of my class I can spend my money on whatever I want, so I figure I'll buy something I like that I can use every day.

You'll need way more than that to afford an Evo. Mowing lawns won't pay the insurance, gas, and maintenance costs.

I know I may be young, but I'm not clueless. I start my new job with my dad when I turn 16. He's not easy to work for (painting), but the money will buy me the car with what I have saved. Not trying to upset you guys, but how many people my age do you know that have saved this much instead of wasting it on games and other junk? I'm pretty proud of my hard work and once I get the car it will all be worth it.

Sorry Kee1pride!! I didn't mean to highjack your thread. Back to your sick ride!

far from sick but you're one of the first young men i'd actually root for. sounds like you've busted your *** and have earned it. just be aware that many young people have parents get them their evos. as you know, anything you put your heart in and earn your self, you appreciate more and are less proned to do retarded things in because you don't want to lose something you worked so hard for. as well many young people get them, neglect them, and then wreck them, making them become a high risk vehicle and those of us who are responsible end up paying higher insurance premiums.

some of you do shine and stand above the rest. good luck to you. don't become a statistic.

anyhow thanks freshsrt-4, i will if i have some questions. i think my main questions will only be where my new powerband will be at and where is the most optimum place to shift with my 6speed gearing, which unfortunately, you don't have experience with. luckily a dyno will tell me all i need to know about an effective powerband.
