Installed an Evo9 turbo a week ago and even untuned, the thing pulls dramatically different than my 05 evo8 turbo.

Just curious how many others have done this and what success they've had at the track. If you have an imput, please post your mods, slip, and octane or if meth was used in it.

My friend is going to help me do some data logging this weekend to get my map tweaked by jestr.

I searched but "evo8 turbo" and "evo9 turbo" and "times" are just too widely used to get a good accurate search.

 

freshsrt-4 did it also and i think he found 2/10s

 

so i take it this is just like unheard of or something?

 

search for member "Stinkapuss" He did a 12.1 or a 12.2 with the VIII turbo, swapped for the IX turbo on the same tune and ran an 11.9 or 11.8. It wasnt good enough so he upgraded turbos again

 

pump gas? or race gas?

can't say im terribly impressed then. my friend mike was running 11.8s on the 03 turbo with the 9.8 hotside on 30psi and meth.

im hoping for 11s on pump and maybe an 11.6-11.7 on race gas and 28psi

Evo9 turbo, still tuned for my evo8 turbo. still pulls a hell of a lot harder than my 8turbo though.

You still had alot more on the table with the VIII turbo. Do you have Evoscan or ECUFlash? You should do some logs of some 3rd gear pulls to see if you are getting crazy knock or anything.

 

well i never went back with my jestr tune but it was much stronger than my dynoflash tune. i don't have hard numbers to prove that but to anyone know whos me and has ran my car, they know jestr's tune kicked the crap out of dnyoflashes. heres what dynoflashes tune looked like.




jestr is tweaking my maps this weekend. xlancerevox (the guy who asked why his car is so slow in this subforum about 5-6 posts down) is putting his wideband in my car this weekend and we're mailing jestr some logs to mess with.

Go buy some race gas and get a tune for that and you should put down a great time

 

It's a pretty standard 20whp gain, which is worth .2s and 2mph. I gained 25whp but haven't gone back to the drag strip yet - I've only autocrossed and road raced with it.
