First time to the track with the 35r

I headed out to Sacramento Raceway last night to try and get a couple of shakedown runs in with the new setup. I had a blast and just couldn't be happier with the results. Keep in mind that this was done on the stock clutch and wheels and tires.

I got to make 2 passes and then they asked me to hit the road. The first run I didn't know what to expect, so I only let the car build about 5psi on the 2 step and let it rip. I was rewarded with a big fat bog. I was expecting to be smashed into the seat, but instead I was almost slammed into the steering wheel And then it felt like an eternity until the turbo finally spooled up. I ended up missing 4th and ran a 12.0 @ 120mph w/ a 2.1 60'.

For the second run I sat on the 2 step until I saw 15psi and dropped the clutch. The car left on boost this time and I ended up spinning all the way through first. The car was pulling insanely hard. I had a clean 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4 and then had to hit 5th about 300 feet from the finish line. The car dropped out of boost in 5th and didn't start to spool back up until I was rolling through the beams So the car wasn't accelerating at all for the last 300 feet, so I was just cruising along.

And here's the slip

As you can see I only gained 20 mph on the back half. And on the first pass since I didn't hit boost until about quarter track I was able to run through the traps in 4th and it gained 31mph on the back side with a missed 4th shift. So I'm pretty sure that with a clean pass and an evo 8 4th the car should mph in the mid 130's. But then again who knows.

Thanks to everyone for the support.

AND A HUGE THANKS TO ANDY, without him this wouldn't have happened.

and hopefully someone got a vid of the second run

Awesome trap speed in the 1/8th mile..........actually nice time and trap considering it was your first time with this setup.

Just imagine if your ran 30psi of boost, that thing would be very scarey.
