My first trip to the strip
i made 354whp and ran a 12.5 @ ???mph on my 1st try at the track.....my 60ft time was a 1.77 i was hoping to get into the low 12's or high 11's but i wasnt paying attention and bogged very badly.

Maybe bad gas? It was 93 with off-the-shelf octane boost added.
When I first loaded this tune, it was knock free, and I haven't really changed anything since then, including boost settings
Well, it's holding 21psi, and after I left the track I datalogged a couple 3rd gear pulls and both of them had knock... the first one 6 counts, the second one 8 counts... This was starting at about 5000rpm and going all the way to shift

Bad gas typically cause the knock but make sure you check them out for sure
I think the power is there, only trapped 79mph through the 1/8th and ended up w/ nearly 106mph at the end of the 1/4 mile. The power is there, I just think he needs to work on his launch and 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd shift.

3000ways, why are you saying the power is there? He trapped 105 when he should have trapped over 110. Only hitting 80 in the 1/8th means the car is weak just like 105 in the 1/4 is weak. My stock 05 hit 80 in the 1/8th and 104 in the 1/4...so he has near-stock power.
Usually I agree with you warrtalon, but I just don't agree with you on this one. Perhaps it is because I understand how a bad driver can make a car look bad. I've been tuned and went out and ran some just miserable times and traps, and seriously I want to place all the blame on the car and/or my tuner but when it comes down to it the blame has to fall on me. Maybe I am wrong, but just maybe if he goes out and does some more runs his times and traps can improve.
And seriously Warrtalon I've always been a fan of yours and thought you were a great contributer to this website, I mean when I got my EVO you were the first person on this website I told. But your negative attitude is really becoming a downer dude.
What part do you disagree with? He only trapped 105. That means he's making no power whatsoever. No amount of poor driving is going to hide 7mph. Plus, his driving isn't even that bad. I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that his car is making good power. On the run I mentioned above when my car was stock, I only had a 1.92 60'. The driving was nothing special...
Not sure what you're talking about. There was nothing negative in my response, and my attitude has been the same for years. Poor driving hurts the ET, not the trap speed. Yes, to some degree, the trap speed can be affected, but if the car makes power, it will show up in the trap speeds.

What RPM do you guys shift at with stock internals? I've run through the shift calculators and they all recommend this approximate shift scale:
1 > 2 @ 7900RPM
2 > 3 @ 7700RPM
3 > 4 @ 7500RPM
4 > 5 @ 7300RPM
But I'm not willing to rev past even 7200RPM on stock internals... unless everyone can convince me it's perfectly safe

I don't know what you mean by a shift calculator, but there's no way you should shift that high on the stock turbo and stock cams. You should be shifting around 7000 probably, but it depends on your dyno sheet. You want to stay in the meat of the powerband.
Revving to 8000 on the stock internals is fine, so no reason to be worried about 7200. What would make you think otherwise?

Is your dynosheet accurate? If you have you max power at less than 6000rpm and dropping in the way it shows on your sheet then your low trap speeds make sense! By 7000rpm you have around 250whp which is around the stock power on the IX!
I guess you need to check your tune... Your torgue comes extremely late and your power drops too fast! With the Mivec you can keep the torgue much higher and the power almost flat almost around 7000rpm!
I see that you have a Jerst flash, which i had also but i made 328whp dynojet @ ~21psi with dp, hfc, catback, intake only and the power would stay flat from around 6000rpm to a little bit over 7000rpm!!! Yours drops too fast...
