back to the track again...
Well the car now has 800 miles on it and its the second trip to the 1/4 for my vette. I was somewhat disappointed but learned a lot so it was worth the 4 passes I took. My goal was to run a 12.3 @115 but it didn't happen. I know the car has it in it. I decided that I would attempt to tune the car a bit. I basically learned that the vette does not like any extra timing what so ever. The first pass I added 1 degree of timing in the midrange and upper range and I got decent traction and hit a 12.615. Next pass I added another degree to both the midrange and the upperrange with datalogging this time and again the car did a 12.637 but I saw that there were some random 7-9 counts of knock in upper rpm ranges which can be seen in the bold below as well. So I put the timing back down to stock levels and did one final pass in which the car got zero traction and spun all the way through first. I think the places for improvement are going to be in my shifting and especially in my 1-2 shift as I can't figure out how to shift it fast but not get wheel spin as I think thats hurting my times as well. I am starting to get the whole launching thing down and with a better prepped track I know a 1.9 is just around the corner with a small burnout as all these passes were without doing burnouts. I also would like to see if leaning it out a bit will prove to make any more power but I am thinking that it won't net me anything either. I also am starting to think that as long as oil temps aren't above 215 before the start that it makes no difference in how the car performs as the first two passes I hotlapped and the last I waited over an hour and it made no difference in my mph (besides the slight increase from wheel spin).

rain its not to bad with t control on, my evo was far worse as far as traction goes if you stomped on both...stock turbos when they hit just blow the tires loose...

Im not sure I am going to at this point, I am trying to actually take care of this car and not trash it hence its only had 7 drag passes in its life and will likely stay under 20 total this summer as I will be selling it at the end of the summer when I go off to grad school...(got the car and I just found out I will be going off to Ross University to become a Veterinarian) so the car will not be following me...I am not even bothering to get DR for the vette...but will see...I will definitely be back in an evo at some point though...my goal would be to have a z06 for the weekends and a evo for the DD...I would be in heaven...

Sick car, enjoy it and get those pipes on it!!!!
