RWD conversion for drag?

ok i know trinababe is doing it with his tube chasis rwd drag car, and i know some company did it for drifting, but has anyone removed the front axles for drag racing? i know it sound stupid because thats one of the reasons the evo is the evo and you will say you lose the point/advantage of AWD launching.....but has anyone tried this? im talking a full slick in the rear with skinnies up front....

I would undersrtand if a big name company or person did it, But an average joe?. Either you have way to much money and time on your hands or you have your priorities mixed up.

I don't anyone in Texas that has tried this.
I would just suggest buying a rear drive car like a Mustang Cobra or Corvette. Its much less costly that way.
