Well, I staged the line, pulled on my e-brake, staged the second set of yellow, dropped the e-brake, clutch in, half way in on the gas, and tried to slipped the clutch. May be next time I need to floor the gas and build some boost and work a little bit more on the clutch.

Don't Ebrake at all, hold your gas pedal to the floor, literally floor it ( I had the same issue when I first got the EVO I didn't completely floor it off the limiter), so I unhooked it and BAM 1.6 60's. But you need to slip the clutch out and keep the gas pedal down. You will know when you do it right by hearing a little tire squeal (and I mean a little).

The reason I used the e-brake is to load the drive train, so no shock to them.

+1 Very True! And you had the e-brake on.. JK. But honestly if you want a good launch just bang that ***** of the revlimit <--- (Its there for a reason ) and feather that baby until you smell a bit of clutch and hear your tires chirp ever so slightly. Youll get it, eventually.

I see that you drive a STI, that car is a lot easier to launch than the Evo. The Sti doesn't have the rev-limiter/launch control, the Evo had one from the factory. I drove my cousin 07 STI and consistently get 1.6s 60' time. On the STI, all I have to do is rev that thing up to 6K and dump the clutch.

As the Evo go, I think I got the hold of it. May be this Sunday I'll get some free time and head back to the track. Hopefully a better 60' time and a better time slip over all. Thanks for the tips guys.

you should have your two-step set to 6K anyway since you're tuned. With that the evo is the easiest car to launch in the universe.
