Ok, let's the beating begin!!

Went to the track today for the first time with the Evo

First run 13.2@ 110mph. Lousy 2.4 60' time.

Second run 13.0@ 112 mph. Still lousy 2.2 60' time.

The weather was not ideal. It was about 95 degree with about 90% humidity.

I need to get better at launching the Evo. Everytime I launch, in the back of my mind still worry about leaving tranny parts on the track. Any tips on launching would be greatly appreciate.

With a 2.2-2.4 60' time I doubt you are laving tranny parts behind ya ..

It takes allot of pratice.

Dude i took the car to the track for the first time 3 weeks ago. First Launch 2.2 13.4 at 108. Second pass 2.0 13.1 at 108. These cars are a lot harder to launch then a 1g. My first launch ever at the track with my 1g was a 1.8. It just takes practice. I'm sure my next run will be 1.9 to 1.8 and progressively better.

Its definitely going to take some practice to get them 60 ft times down. What was your reaction time? I’m guessing some where in the .9's? If this is the case, then getting your reaction time down from that of a recreational drug user to that of a normal person will lower the 60 fts a bunch.

My first time to the track I was very scared/nervous. Talk to a bunch of people there and make some buddies that way you feel more comfortable at the line. These new buddies will most likely give you a bunch of pointers.

RT has nothing to do with 60's...you can sit at the tree for 3 seconds and still pull a good launch at 1.6

^^ this is so true!! lol

first time i went to the track i pulled a 2.0 60' and after some practice my best to date has been a 1.8 and ive only been to the track twice, so it takes a lil bit of practice so no worries about breaking your tranny

floor it to your two-step and just release the clutch in a controlled manner, not dumping it, but not feathering it and BAM, 1.6-1.7 60's all day long.

Just because it bears repeating...R/T has _NO_ effect on 60' or ET. I do not know why fitbikedominick would say that.

Very interesting. The Evo fell flat on it's face when I did that.

you have to be sitting right AT the point of engagement while two-stepping it. Right at the point where the car starts to load.
