***Why am I so slow? Times Inside***

I have an Evo IX with the following times attached amd mods in my sig. I KNOW I should be faster. I'm working on my 60ft. But with that aside, my mph is down, and I'm still trying to find a sweet spot to shift....tried everywhere from 6800-7600...any suggestions? I do feel heat was a MAJOR factor though...98 deg, Track Temp 128 deg and Humiditywas 60%. Nonetheless hack away and looking for constructive feedback. Can't find any leaks either. Tires were crappy Falken Ziex 512 All-Seasons. Lastly runs were on 21-22psi on 91 Octane.

Run#1:

R/T: .477
60FT: 1.804
1/8: 8.426
MPH: 79.51
1000FT: 11.070
1/4: 13.281
MPH: 102.15

Run#2:

R/T: .005
60FT: 1.823
1/8: 8.431
MPH: 82.54
1000FT: 11.056
1/4: 13.246
MPH: 103.36

Run#3:

R/T: .066
60FT: 1.887
1/8: 8.579
MPH: 80.04
1000FT: 11.200
1/4: 13.385
MPH: 103.47

Run#4:

R/T: .119
60FT: 1.879
1/8: 8.417
MPH: 81.22
1000FT: 11.003
1/4: 13.166
MPH: 104.44

i got nothin........IMO you should be in the low 12's....probably close to 110mph or higher.

I'd get another opinion regarding your tune......thats all i can think of.......

i would say better faster shifting (shift at 7400) where you still have power boost tends to tapper off at 7600. Also i dont remeber if the dc is one that eliminates the cat but i would deffinetly get rid or the cat if its still there. the car should be able to pull 12.8 easily with the setup you have now trapping 107+

^Yeah I just installed your flash an hour prior to running. Is heat that big of a factor? My DC Sport DP is catless. That night at midnight on the way home the car pulled like a train. Everyones times seem to be way down. Beat an SRT4 with same mods and an 06 EVO MR with similar mods...

Heat is going to be a huge factor but you should be alittle faster. +1 on the cat though.

Whoaaaaa, say what??? Boost doesn't tend to taper at 7600...it begins to taper closer to 4600 and horsepower peaks closer to 6600. By 7600, you're completely out of breath, and it's not much better at 7400. Shifting at 7400 on a stock turbo'd IX with stock cams is not a good idea. He should shift at 7000. Also, why say "better faster shifting"? This guy was driving very well - his shifting is the LEAST of his problems. His PROBLEM is that he's only trapping 102-104. That is the ONLY problem. His 60' can improve, which will improve his ET some, but it's not going to suddenly make his car fast. His setup should be trapping a lot more than 107, too.

LIL EVOL, yes, heat is a big factor, but I think there's much more at play than heat. My example is that I ran a 12.000 @ 113+ in 60* weather, and on the same setup, I ran 4 straight 12.1s @ 111.5 in 95* weather with 100% humidity. So yes, heat made a difference, but not that drastic.

Warrtalon, what do you recommend? I'll attach a vid for observation. Give me 30min. Will be getting dyno-tuned soon in Dallas by Kevin-D.

even in 95 degree heat i run 12.2@111-112 on TBE/MBC/Intake on pump. Maybe you have a boost leak. Your launches aren't THAT bad.

He said he did a boost leak test, so that shouldn't be a problem, unless he meant that he checked for leaks with a visual inspection, which is completely worthless. If he didn't really do a boost leak test, then all those fad-following ETS IC components could very easily have a big leak (or leaks) caused during installation.

I'd ensure there are no leaks up to 25psi via boost leak tester before getting custom tuned by KevinD.

You are way down on power, Im not sure if I ever saw an evo trapping 79 in the 1/8. Since you have all new charge pipes and FMIC, I would be willing to put money on it that you have a large boost leak.

Do a boost leak test

Yeah, my first ever run in the 05 MR when stock had an 8.4@80 1/8th and 13.1@104 1/4. Good weather, but still. This is a stg2 IX, so there's definitely a problem, but you already know that.

Do I need a separate map if tuned for 91?

to get the most use out of race gas you should have a map,but you can run it and turn up the boost with out a tune....
