1st time at the track - What should I expect?

Hello guys!

I'm finally going to put my EVO through some abuse and see what it can do at the track tommorrow..

I'm a little worried about what it SHOULD do down the track with my whp and my lack of track experience. So, my question is: What should a ~300whp EVO do with a non-experienced track driver? What are some of the times of other evos that have this setup?

Thanks,

-M

12.8-13.2ish would be my guess, only from seeing other evos do that. If you've never launched before, plan on a 1.9-2.1 60' and 99-104mph trap speed

mods ?? maybe boost controller, cone filter and exhaust for 292whp is that a mustang dyno or dyno jet . . . to be honest there are too many variables but like I said previously, those times would be typical for a first time at the track with roughly that power

I should have stated. I have an ACT clutch with lightened flywheel and a 2-step rev limiter at 6,000.

Mods:

3" full exhaust (no cat)
tubular headers
boost controller
k&n drop in

I would say if you can at least get a 1.8 60' you should be in the 12's.

I've launched several times before on the street. I don't think that's going to slow me down... I also have a 2-step rev limiter.

Would 60' be around my entire 1st gear (0-30mph)? Just trying to gauge when I would be pass the 60' according to my instrumentation.

Errrr, no. Where did you get those numbers? Look what you run with 70 more whp. With 292whp on a Dynojet, he'll trap 107-108 and run high 12s with 1.8-1.9 60's.

OP, 292 is not 300. I know it's close, but each 10whp is about .1s and 1mph. With 305whp on a Dynojet, I ran 12.26 @ 110 as you can see in my sig, but I wouldn't expec that if you're inexperienced.

Also, thinking that launching won't be a problem just because a) you've tried it on the street and b) have a 6k limiter is foolish thinking. The 6k limiter doesn't make suddenly able to launch, and the street is nothing like the track. You'll find out.

Get the launch down, and you'll be alright. Good luck!
