Nice driving! The car should be making more power though. Did you log any drag runs? I wonder if it has good power and is shift knocking or if it just has more on the table?

Definitely good driving, but you are having some problems up top. Losing power badly, so that indicates 4th gear knock.

My logs indicate very little knock. I'll post them shortly.

I think this is what every evo owner should aim for, stock turbo w/ minimum mods (no cam) and in the mid 12's; unlike other evo owner with big turbo upgrade achieve the same result.

stock turbo has potential and better drivability

I don't think the tires had much to do with it.

255/40/17 azenis on the stock rim.

I have been looking to upgrade the turbo but not sure if i really need to.

I am aiming for about 400awhp.

I have a 2.3L with just intake, downpipe exhaust.
I got a Walbro and hallman boost controler. That will go on soon.

Do you think the stock turbo on my VIII will be efficient enough for my goal ?

Sorry for the thread jack. And nice times. Doesn't look bad at all for whats done.
