First time for the 1320!

Hey guys, I ran my car friday night, it's an 03 VIII, and I have a 3" TBE, MBC holding 19psi(peaking at 21). Well, I ran a couple of low 13's, and then I finally get a good launch, and pulled off a 12.855@105.12.

I was pretty impressed, as were a lot of others that were there.

My slip was as follows:
60'........1.763
330.......5.249
1/8........8.153
mph......83.83
1000.....10.708
1/4.......12.855
mph......105.12

All comments are welcomed!

This is my second tuner car. I had a 93 Probe GT, that ran 12.58@112, supercharged @ 9psi. I will most likely try for 10's in this car, sometime next year. Thanks for looking.

John

Pretty good. Now, you need a fuel pump, JDM MR DV, and a tune. The tune is the most important mod of all, so the best is yet to come. Pretty good driving and decent enough power for an untuned 03.

Fuel pump is sitting in the back seat, I don't know what a DV is, and it will be dyno tuned as soon as I get a wastegate actuator to hold the boost constant! I also have a ported O2 housing, but don't want to put it on because of all the PITA responses I heard about it. Thanks for the reply!

Oh, and I'm removing the Wideband from my probe, as well as the fuel pressure regulator, and fuel hose, which is made to withstand alcohol, as I am debating running E85 to make some stupid power on the stock turbo!

dv = diverter valve. The stock plastic one leaks.

Getting tuned doesn't require a dyno. It's the most important mod.

You don't need a WGA, and it is not going to do what you think it will do. Boost will not hold constant on the stock turbo, because it cannot sustain high boost levels at high rpms - it's just the way it is. A WGA is not something you'd get until much later in the modding process.

im sorry but i find the jdm mr valves leak for 3 or 4 of our customers cars at a simple 24 25 psi of boost. i dont suggest this valve unless you road race due fluttering on corner exits.

for 75-85 bucks they certainly hold a lot more than the stockers which some start leaking at 14-15psi...

Thanks guys, I've already got a BOV, So now I just have to install the fuel pump. who would you recommend to get a flash from? I was just going to dyno tune, but it doesn't make much sense since I will still modify the car.

Also, just curious as to when I should look into head studs. I don't think I will do the 1 by 1 method, as I have heard too much debatable things about it. Thanks again!

If your in IL, take the car to AMS!!!! They'll treat you right and your car will get one of the best tunes out there!

Well I don't really have the time to drive to Chi-town, as it's about 2.5-3hours away, and I'm currently working EVERYDAY, sometimes up to 12 hours, so I'm too exhausted to take that far of a drive. Who all does mail-in flashes, Do AMS and Buscher? If I were to dyno-tune, it would be about $200-250, which ain't too bad I think.

Any other opinions? thanks again guys
