Nitto Drag radials, are they good?
Whats up Dan....it's been a while
If you could get us BFG's in time for the shootout that would be great and we would send the Nittos back..
I'll pm you

Well i guess i'll re-think the DR thing
With over 600whp i was able to get a 1.7 60ft. off the 2 step on stock Advans.
This was the very first time launching an AWD car and first time ever using a 2 step.
The killer is that this was THE VERY FIRST time i had ever even drivin the Evo since i bought it a month ago and built the motor
Straight from the dyno.....on to the trailer.....into the staging lanes......and then OFF THE LINE

I heard the Nittos are better for street driving because of the tread pattern and they don't wear as fast. As for traction, a friend of mine cut a 1.7 60ft with a 500whp 03 cobra so they hook pretty well. If you had them on all 4 corners, you'd be great off the line and decent on the (warm) street.

Very inconsistent tire from my experience on my previous 500rwhp 03 Cobra. However, after they gave up at the track they still provided respectable traction on the street. I couldn't cut any better than 1.9's with the Nitto's, switched to ET Streets and my 60 foot's immediately dropped to consistent 1.6's
The other thing I found is that Nitto's have stiffer sidewalls and don't like to be shocked on the launch. BFG's have softer sidewalls, are more foregiving and one of the reasons they're more consistent besides being much stickier
For the track they have a narrow window of decent traction, few thousand miles.

Once we add about 50 more hp and raise the 2 step i think i'll run some MT's on some CCW's
See ya next week cletus!
