Wheel Hop + high traction results...

Air Temp: mid 70s
Tire Pressure: 34psi warm
2-step: 6250rpm
fuel: C16
weight: 3500 pounds with driver ( i know i am too heavy)...

First shakedown pass at 25psi a 12.200 @ 114

I got insane wheel hop on this pass and i babied all gearchanges... my gearchanges from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to fourth were taking 0.47-0.48 sec (100 tps - off the gas - shift - 100 tps again)... Boost was spiking at 25psi...

Second pass i wanted to try more boost so i turned my boost controller 2.5 turns more... I stage the car, go on the 2-step, launch...

The car span all four, went sideways and SNAP.... coasted the track and stopped moving on the return road...

Results...

....

The car was fixed the next day and for that i want to THANK Manny from Top Level Performance who drove all the way to New Jersey to tow the car and of course MASTER JIMMY @ THE SHOP, CT and Marlin who fixed the car in a few hours...

I guess i have to invest on some suspension mods to cure the wheel hop problem...

No, you don't need suspension mods to stop wheel hop. Just have to figure out the right combo of tire pressure and launch method.

I 've read all the threads in evom on the subject...

i agree with you Warr... however i have to say that i am still on the stock mounts, no torgue damper no nothing... i have a quite aggresive clutch, a built tranny so it makes sense that when something goes wrong, the weakest part will break...

Usually i use 40psi tire pressure to spin instead of breaking something.... This time though i went lower... and obviously i twas a mistake... Ohhh well... we learn from our mistakes...

I will do some upgrades howeveer... probaly i will invest on better engine mounts and rear trail arm bushings and maybe the moustache bar from AMS... i just cant stand the loud thumb from the rear diff when i am aggresive on the gearchanges...
