12's ALL DAY!!

Im in! I'm in!

So it finally happened yesterday at Englishtown Fall Nationals event.
After working out all the bugs, o2 sensor and EGR codes, I hit 12's and I hit it hard!
My best time came on the first pass. 12.428@109 1.726 60'

I would like to thank Al for the tune, despite my boost guage being a little srewy.
The car made good numbers at ICS performance on Friday, but boost levels were suspicious. For example, the car made a high of 354hp and 363trq on pump gas spiking to 27, falling to 22 or 23 with NO KNOCK!!! At the track I ran pump gas spiking to 24 and falling off to as low as 19. Wasnt able to weigh the car, they turned the scale off, but Im guessing 3350-3360 as the last time was the same.

Mods include:
Apexi intake filter
255 pump
hallman RX boost controller
o2 housing (don't remember the brand)
buschur V-band TB exhaust
Arp headstuds
HKS 272s
JDM MR BOV

Here's the hard data:

RUN #1 RUN#2 Run#3

R/T ... .378 .253 .453
60'.... 1.726 1.722 1.838
330 ... 5.074 5.031 5.163
1/8... 7.898 7.828 7.972
MPH... 87.54 88.22 88.10
1000... 10.368 10.433 10.439
1/4... 12.428 12.736 12.672
MPH... 109.86 97.41 92.28

BTW. Run # 2 and #3 were during elminations. I hit the brake near the finish line to not brake out, thus the MPH. The other cars were no where near me, so I didnt want to risk a 12.3 (especially on run #2) with a 12.4 dial-in. I also missed 4th gear on run #2, watching my boost guage and the guy in the next lane. I NEED to work on my reactions as well....jeez, talk about sleeping

It sucked the Bracket 3 was cut short. I could have used the $1000 dollar 1st place reward...lol. Prize was split between 15 racers after second round eliminations. $100 is better than $0

COMMENTS WELCOME!!

good driving, it will get better with time. I only have a few more mods and Im making about 25 more hp on less boost and Im in the 11s. You can do the same with practice.

Thanks man. I bang my gears hard, especially 3rd and 4th. I would say you have close to 40 more hp. I had turned the boost down a bit, so it would only spike to 24.5 according to AL....and then street tuned at that psi. where it spiked to 27, it made 350+ there.

I think so too. If it wasnt for eliminations, missing 4th and hitting the brakes.......run #2 was looking promissing. Maybe a 12.399

Well, since the tune I have been shifting at about 7500-7600 because I still feel a pull up there (2nd and 3rd). Before I would always shift at 7K. My 12.4 run was done shifting at about 7500.

The only gear I wind-out is 2nd and 3rd. I sometimes stop 1st gear at 7K.

Did it AGAIN!

here's an update.

today was a good day. At Import Wars at Englishtown, I ran my personal best in E.T. and 60'.

Same setup as in the original post, same boost......but about 30+ degees cooler.

1st run:
1.68 60'/12.380 @ 108mph. missed 4th (more like my ACT locked me out)

2nd run (bracket eliminations):
1.78 60'/12.388 @ 108mph. hitting the brakes to not break-out, but still did (12.4 dial). I was beaten by .15seconds

all in all, good day.
Thanks again AL.
