dragers 2.3 strocker engine has more torque under the curve its better for daily driven evos with bigger turbos spool up is much faster the problem is that they cant go past 8000rpms and are not that good for drag racing as a 2.0 would be.
buschur and ams use a 2.0 for drag racing you can rev them up to 9500rpms all day long so this makes them better for racing.

Piston speed is too fast. They wear out the piston skirts from the additional stroke and cannot be turned as fast as other motor arrangements.

I love the 2.3 motor. Keeping the revs under 8000 is a good thing not a bad thing. engines last longer at lower revs. I can ran a 10 flat in my yellow car with the rev limit set at 7000. how is this a bad thing? torque=fun fast spool= fun. end of my input. if there is a drawback to the stroker it is drivetrain parts dont last as long.

Piston skirt wear isn't an issue if it's given the proper clearance and you use a quality piston.

As for revs, why spin it to 9k when you can make more power at a lower RPM with more torque and faster spool? What I'm trying to say is that not being able to rev it to 9 grand is a moot point given the lower power band.

He hates strokers for their freedom.. to make torque

^That's just amazing!

But I think the record times are held by Dan Bajalis and Curt Brown..

Curt Brown did a 9.3 or 9.4 with a 2.3 and 35R if I recall correctly.

when you ran your 9.8, what stroker kit where you using and how far did you spin that if you don't mind?

I was thinking Curt Brown had a 2.0.

how is the throttle response on the strokers? Does the extra stroke make it more lethargic than the 2.0?

Somehow the thread title could have "motors" added to it. It conflicts with our spam filters.

It was on a 2.0 by Buschur, I did run a 2.1 for a short period but had bad luck with it, two blown motors nad slower times, switching only shortblocks(2.1 to BR2.0) picked up 50whp and 50 ft lbs.
