Yeah, i'm calling shenanigans on this one. You are not going to run 13.1 with a 2.0 60ft stock.

I just can't see it happening. If you are trapping that high, you wont be running that low of an ET. That would mean that his stock Evo IX MR should be good for 13 flat to high 12's with a 1.6-1.7 60 ft. I'd have to see it to believe it. I think C&D got the lowest stock IX quarter that i've seen and it was 13.2 at 105, which seems to be more realistic.

Yes you will. It's basic math. If you have a shltty 60', your times will suffer a lot. A bunch of stock IXs have hit 12s, and one even hit 12.7.

I went 13.17 @ 103.9 in my stock 05 with a 1.9 60'.

Warr - what about the shorter gears on the 6sp MR vs the 5sp GSR. How much time difference could there be between a MR and GSR with the same power because of the difference in gear ratio?

I guess it would get great as power increases as well. But then at some point the MR would need to shift since it would run out of power band.

But before that would happen....is there a significant time difference due to gear ratio???

Stein, the 6spd gears are not shorter than the IX 5spd gears really - only marginally so in 4th gear. The big difference is between VIII 5spds and the rest. This gearing allows VIII 5spds to go much faster in the 1/4 due to being able to stay in 4th gear, but it doesn't become a factor until after 115mph trap speeds or so. Below that speed, the shorter gearing of the IX 5spd and 05-06 6spds helps them scoot a little more quickly, but not measurably so.

There is a stock Evo IX MR running a 13.1 @ 106.7 and his 60ft couldve been better.. he was running 1.7 and 2 1.6's that same night. @ about 9:57 into the vid it introduces the owner and then shows his run.

Looks do-able to me with that trap speed as WT keeps saying. Crazy trap speed stock though, thats for sure (regardless of the crappy driving).

Not all tracks are even. The NHRA maximum allowable downslope is 8ft. I believe. Doesnt sound like much, but every bit helps.

^ I believe that. I've always thought SIR/Pacific sloped down a little bit.

Hehe

I ran 12.2 @ 107 mph. Of course cutting a 1.6 60' help alot.

and for being rediculously low mph, I ran 11.5 @ 114 mph. It's my stupid 4th gear.
