dbsears87- I don't know why the boost was lower than it should be. I'm working on that right now and making other changes.

fastrob691- yes, weight reduction and sea level. But we are also on one of the slowest tracks

I will have someone vid from the middle, my camera just isn't a great video taker. I may go buy a regular cam corder for the next runs.

i see what your saying, but unless you bring your tuner with you to every track event, it seems that your going to never set any good records... i mean every time out, the weather is going to be different, the track conditions change, i mean there are so many variables.

seeing the tuner for all the major changes makes sense to me if you dont want to touch it, but you need to at least be able to change your 2 step for situations that you are garunteed to find. 100 rpm here , 500 there .. ive been there and done that unless your tuner goes to all your track visits you gotta at least touch it for the 2 step right?

from what i see and hear, your an amazing driver i know thats now the problem.. i just would hate to see you continue to have bad results cuz you wont change the 2 step at the track to get the times that you are very capable of running.

so sunco, drag radials, and weight reduction.....fully bolted....nice runs, but why is it such a surprise that he is running this good.....i think one of the fastest IX rs is running 12.7 from the factory.....good runs though....great driving!

Your making more of this than what it really is. I went from a previous tune and street set up which was 18" Volks, etc and we set the two step accordingly. I since then decided to make the car a more dedicated drag car. I am now running DOTS, etc and the traction is ridiculous. That 11.20 was a joke and in no way a bad result. That was on a tune for a different 4 th gear ratio, different clutch/flywheel, different T/C, different LSD, 300lb heavier car, different chassis set up, different tires, etc, etc. So, I would say it is time for an update in the tune I only went to the track to try to dial in my suspension and get some seat time. I'm bringing Scott@TTP back down to make the final changes after I make a few more changes myself this week. He is the only one who touches my ecu. I'm a driver/mechanic, not a tuner. And I don't want to be or pretend to be. I have a strong relationship with Scott and I respect his tune. I also have no urge to go in there and just change the 2 step. When I get the car set up completely the way I want, no changes will be made from there. I just adjust my driving for the day to suite the track conditions. As for records, 11.20 w/ a poor 60' speaks for itself. The only people touching my times are guys with lots of spray or fully built motors. In two weeks you will be scratching your head, going WTF

i love it!! and most of all i respect it. i cant wait to see the times you do. i still think there would be an advantage to at least changing the 2 step when it calls for it. ( we all know this to be true, but with your tuner being a good friend you can get it changed very easily i understand )

and like you said, changing your driving for each little variable that might come up, makes sense. your times do kick butt, and you seem to be an awesome guy. keep it up.

guys like us (me less noted) make people's jaw's drop with fantastic track times, and not always the couple page mod list. and even those people most of the time still cant even run the times some of us do ( props to a couple mike065, warrtalon ect ) . i think the people that dont always come from rich background, or people that started out with DSM's seem to end up good evo drivers. maybe cause shifting and driving dsm's is like driving a rocket powered box of metal.

anyways hope this makes sense im tired and feel like putting some of these

keep doing what your doing

Thanks, it is a blast to drive and getting faster and faster. It just takes time and I keep changing things around. I just had a racebike fail because of poor gas and its the gas I use in the car. So, that was another reason for wanting to change the tune. I'm going to switch to C16 and if I need a retune, I might as well do the other things at this time. I'm hoping to make it back to the track no later than April 8th. Time will tell if the changes I've made are worth it. Too often people get stuck in their ways, so I have been thinking outside the box to see if there may be a different approach and maybe a different set up. It might work and it might not Thanks for the props and I'll keep you posted on the results.
