Just curious how much they might help your time. Let's say a GT35R Evo running 10.5 on street tires, how much do you think they could pick up moving to a drag radial or a full slick?

u could pick up a few tenths of a second, just dont exspect ur drivetrain to hold up long, but if ur running 10.5s i doubt its stock anyway.

axels, tcase, trans, ect..

thats the same setup im looking to go with later this year and ive been told traction becomes an issue in 1st when you get that much power. However if you know how to launch it you dont have to replace all your drivetrain, just step up to a twin disk

depends on track conditions and also how well you set up your two step, air pressure, alignment etc... I have ran a 10.0 at 142 with 37r on all season tires... also ran 10.3 at 135 with 35r on all season tires and 1.6 60 foot.

yes they make a big difference but also add a lot more strain to the drivetrain...

i have never ran a slick before, but from running a drag radial to the Hoosier QTP dot tire I noticed the car launching a lot smoother and seemed to have less strain as the sidewalls are very soft to take some of the initial load on the launch. Street tires, can make the car "wheel hop" and that will be very abusive on the drivetrain.

WOW

If you have a moment do you think you could elaborate on where you thought all the time came from.

Not necessarily, because of soft sidewall/sidewall flex it can actually be easier on the drivetrain, especially if you have enough power in an AWD car to warrant slicks.
