If the car is properly set up you can absolutely make well over 700whp on a stock transfer case. Our car is still on the stock transfer case/rear and axles from 2003. We run the stock 03 front diff with an LSD insert. Wheelhop and dumping the clutch will destroy any transfer case.

with my 2.3 and ams 37, I dialed down my 2 step to 5500-5700 with about 5lbs of boost off the line, it wasn't a killer 60 foot but 1.5's on a drag radial and the launch was smooth. Key is to pre-load on the prestage to staging and yes you can let off the clutch quickly but not quite side step it.

Can you explain the pre load process a little.

sure, basically when you are in gear, you let the clutch pedal up to point of engagement where your car will creep forward slightly... now apply the e brake from keeping you from moving while keeping the clutch pedal at the same location. This will lessen the driveline shock and allow you to release the clutch pedal more quickly with less chance of bogging (assuming your 2 step is dialed in correctly)

Got it thanks! I just held the clutch to the highest point I could where the car wouldnt move and didn't use the e brake. I'll give this a shot.

You are dumping the clutch. That will kill the drivetrain anytime. Good luck next time out.

How many miles you have on the redline fluid? I know of ALOT of transfer cases that have been letting go on redline fluid. 5 of which happended this month. I dont particulary like the fluid and I have seen more than one person have shavings consistently come out with that fluid when changed. Just food for thought.
