Giving Up
I think you should swap out the rings, do a light hone, get that cylinder pressure back up where you get that 25-35psi back in each cylinder and do it all on the stock motor before biting the bullet.
The downside to buying a tenured IX with 40k on the motor of unknown use and care, is not knowing what kind of hand you have been dealt. You have played your cards well for the hand that you have been dealt thus far in the game of "project secondhand RS"

anyways... just had to get that out. I dunno why... This is not an attack towards you, so don't take it that way..... plus I bought most of my parts thru you.... Twice....
LoL I couldn't ever make up my mind on which way I wanted to go with my car. Brian, I've been following all your threads with my old car just never posted..... my opinion would be to rehone and go for that goal...... once achieved..... then go big!
As far as use and care...... I took good care of it till the day I sold it. Oil was changed every 3000 with Mobil 1 only and either a Mobil 1 oil filter at times if not then an OEM Mitsu one. I loved this car, but I did drive it and race it as it was intended to do so. I loved busting 400-600 hp cars asses and out running street bikes on the street with on only 380-400.... By no means am I offended by the remarks being made " unknown use and care" just wanted to clairify how this car was taken care of. It was not perfect when I sold it to him but it was a solid car. The only downside I remember was a little transfercase whine. I changed those fluids religiously after track events or just cause of mileage. It didn't start whining till I got it back from a well known shop that I had put the clutch in..... Turned out they used the wrong fluid....
So much for trust in a reputable shop with a simple clutch job....

Where ya bean
No hard feelings here at all. Cylinder psi is down a bit, it has a little leak down, but the car runs just fine. Just hard to attack these records with everyone making 500whp on E-85
The car was taken good care of and was driven exactly the way it should've been. There are easy remedies, just not sure which road to take. As of right now it is hard to justify a rebuild and put everything stock turbo related back on to run a 10.60-10.80??. The car can easily do it, but not worth it to me. I'm pretty sure no one has run 11.0 with 382whp(MD) and I'm content with that.
