yea, usual stock 8;s will run around low-mid 13's, but if it was hot, no launch control, and low shift points, that explains it....

if you want to get decent times u HAVE to launch off the 2step and rev it out more. With only an exhaust i was able to get a 1.72 60ft and a 13.01@103. But as long as you had a good time its all good.

You know you are nowhere near stock times if you didn't even launch. that's the most important factor of drag racing. If you don't launch, then there's no reason to waste your money at the drag strip. Stock Evos are a second quicker and also faster - your results are embarrassingly low.

Don't worry... for your first trip to the track, there's nothing wrong with not breaking any records. My first trip to the track, my best run was a 14.3.

Don't be embarrassed at all.... there's nothing wrong with easing into it. Some of us daily drive our Evo's, and to us, it's not worth it at all to smoke a clutch for a "respectable" run at the track. If you're new to racing your Evo, which I was too, I'm still not ready to start using the 2-step, and slipping the clutch from 7600rpms!

I've been daily driving my Evo for 4 years, and my first run was a 13.17 @ 103.89 in stock form. I didn't wear out my stock clutch until I was running 12.2s with a cat-back and did 12 straight 12.2-12.3 runs when winning a bracket competition. He's far from that and so are you. No reason to go if you don't launch it - you learn nothing. You don't smoke the clutch by doing a normal launch - you smoke it by trying to launch from too low of an rpm.

The 2-step is not set at 7600 - no one slips the stock clutch from there, and most people don't do that with ANY clutch.

They did, but it was set to ~7900rpm, which was higher than the primary rev limiter, so no one knew.

Of course - all USDM Evos can. It's not specific to 05-06s.
