First time at the track (slips & video)

I went to the strip for the first time with the Evo tonight. We got there late so I was only able to get 2 runs in. This was my first time launching the car also. I know there is more in it, but I'll need more practice. If anyone is wondering this was in a full weight car with 1/4 tank, spare, & baby seat. Not to mention I'm about 270 myself. I wanted to put it on the scales to get an actual weight with driver, but I didn't have a lot of extra time & I didn't know where it was. I didn't get to play with my tire pressures so they were at about 35PSI. I think I was getting some tire pin on the launch, but I couldn't really tell. My 2 step is set at 5800RPM. Sorry for the long post, but I figured I'd give all the info people may want to know. I'm open to any input from you guys (good or bad). After all I would have never been able to launch as well as I did if it hadn't been for the tips I've read here, so let me know what you think.

No, it's very slow - these are stock times for a IX.

Shunder, not much to say. You know you haven't launched it yet, and you didn't prep the car for racing, so you shouldn't even worry about tonight. Just go back out with the spare removed, no baby seat, tire pressures in the mid 20s, and get 8-10 runs if you can on a different day. Arrive before the gates open and run non-stop until it closes.

I did actually run with my Recaro baby seat in on my last run, and it was an 11.74 @ 115.0, but that was just for kicks. Don't leave stuff in the car when racing.

I would be a little concerned with the low traps honestly. 357whp uncorrected at TopSpeed would be ~113-114 traps. I assume both the dyno and drag runs were on 93oct.

Yes both the dyno pull & the pass were on 93 octane. I 'm pretty sure that with some practice & tire pressure adjustments I could get the 60' times to the 1.7-1.6 range. Not sure why the traps were a little low. I really wish I could have gotten an actual weight to give a a correct representation of the car. I didn't even really want to go to the track last night for the reasons you mentioned. This track is always packed & it's hard to get in alot of runs. the track I was planning on going to for my first runs is about 3 hours away, but does not have alot of people running so you can get as many runs as you want on a full day. The only reason I went is because my brother begged me to go with him so he could run his R1. Then they wouldn't let him run anyway because he had removed his chain guard. All in all it was fun which is the important part, but of course now I really want to spend the day at the other track getting dialed in.
