Need help diagnosing my 1/4 time
my mods are mbc @20, tbe, exedy clutch and a ams base flash... ive seen people with those mods in the registery and run mid to high 12s but im consistantly running 13.4 whicch is pretty much a stock 1/4 time. i shift at 7300ish and im near bottom of 4th gear when i cross the finish line.
my times
60' 1.95
13.7@101.61
60' 1.9
13.48@102.54
60' 1.848
13.475@101.63
is there something wrong with my car?? if i do end up getting a 1.6 or 1.7 60' my times wouldn't be significantly differernt right?? could it be i was on all season snow tires?? or does 2lbs more of boost make that big of a difference??

I would say you could be running high 12's, and your mph is really low. The 60 foots are not great either, but you should be trapping higher then that. Do a one over on the car, and boost leak test, you seem to be down on power.
At that boost level range two more psi will make some significant difference. It if was a much higher boost levels(28 to 30psi) it wouldn't make that much difference on the stock turbo but 20 to 22psi will. As per the 60', yes, it will also be significant on your ET. Rule of thum 1 tenth on the 60'= 2 tenths on the ET.

I would say two things. improve you 60' and shift sooner. with your mods your out of your power curve for sure at 7300-7400. shift at 7k. make a simple boost leak tester and do that 4 sure also. may find some power thier also.

Work on lowering your 60 ft....1.6, 1.7..is attainable lower your tire pressure, however the all season tires do really hurt your trap speeds. And why not raise your boost levels? everyone I know runs 25lbs all day long no probs....just like most people an Evo will out drive our abilities...practice, practice, practice....
1. Work on your 60. A decent 60 for a stockish Evo can still be in the 1.6's which would cut .3 - .4 tenths off your ET
2. Shift at around 6700-6800 rpm. You are shifting way to high for your setup. Power shifting will make you a little faster but from the looks of it you are still new and I would not try power shifting until you are more experienced at racing.
3. Work on shifting faster. Your mph is suffering because of slow shifts.
Hope this helps!

yeah work on that 60' and play around where your shifting at. My buddy has an 03 that just had an apexi cat back and all season tires and stock everything else not tune nothing and ran a 13.0 at 100mph
As for being around a stock Evo time, you might be around a really good 05 stock evo time or a pretty descent 06 stock evo time. from what i've seen, the 03-04 run higher 13s in stock form. Practice does make a huge difference. Work on the launch, as the other's have mentioned. You can pick up some good time from that. Also, if you're running those mods and only trapping 101-102, I would believe your shifting might be a little slow. I would presume some 105-106 trap speeds should be attainable without much of an issue...and normally when your 60' is slower, your trap speed in relation to your ET will be higher. For example, with your 1.9 60' and your 13.7 @ 101 could turn into a 13.5 @ 100 w/ a 1.8 or 1.7 60 ' time.
shift sooner as above people have said. Im at 21lbs and i peak at 6150 so I try to shift around there. I imagine without bigger cams your way out of your power range slowing you down. i just started racing too and practice really does make perfect! good luck in the future
