First time at the track with evo...

Well i went to the track for the first time tonight in the evo.. I have a 2003 Evo 8... I have a turbo back, with up pipe down pipe, injen intercooler piping, and a aem intake.. The best i went was a 14.3 at 96.6 mph... Im at over 5000 ft elevation... But i was just wandering does that sound like a good time really or is that pretty bad??? Also what else should be done for some faster times... Im not talking nothing big big, just like i know a turbo manifold, and bigger intercooler and tune.. but what else... thanks guys

before you get tuned I would do a mbc and gauge or ebc to get the most from the mods.

Guys keep in mind he is at 5000ft elevation..If I were you I would do a turbo back exhaust (do not get a manifold) and have a forum vendor like Mellon or a reputable tuning shop dyno tune your car on a load bearing dyno..I ran 12.2 with only tbe and tune..

was your buddy in an 03? remember, the 03 is the weakest perfomer in stock form, and normally with minor boltons. plus the elevation. i would assume once tuned, at least a mid 13 is possible. so i would guess you should be able to run higher 13s as is.

yeah im trying to get mid 13's... the plans are a mbc, or a ebc, a bigger fmic, a turbo manifold, and a tune after adding all that... think with a good 60ft i could hit high 12's??? at over 5000 ft elevation...

We are OVER 5000' where I am at and we have a few Evo's in the 11's on the stock turbo and E85... a 14.XX is pretty slow but it was your first time cut yourself some slack.

But please get a tune before you blow your S*** up .

Get a tune, possibly E85 (w/ bigger injectors), cams, head studs.... get your 60' times down to the 1.6 - 1.5 mark, faster shifting and say hello to High 11's.
