2009 Quickest / Fastest Evo's List..
I can see the whole stock appearing/stock ecu thing gaining popularity every day.......for good reason.I think a lot of people now realize the maximum potential of these cars/motors now it seems like a race of who can do the most with the least.
David, I think you would enjoy the competition. I think it would be great to have several guys shooting for one goal. No doubt, the BadBish would be setting records there, just like it does with the bigger turbo.
I'll have to see how things go. I've been staying out of the stock appearing stuff since last year because of guys like you (Tom) and Brian working towards that. Getting involved in it to me and many others, would seem to be "nasty" and I've avoided it, it's very good for me to help good people go fast and not try to compete for every record there is.
First goal for me is to finish what I started last year and put the car in the 8's. I'm guessing even if things don't go 100% perfectly, it should happen the first time out with the car.
Maybe I'll just use this heavy pig of a car, Project White, to see what it will run. Hell 3 years ago the RS ran 10.8 at 128.8 on the green on a radial, heavier than it is now and a hell of a lot less technology. Bobby's car on the stock head, stock block, GSC cams, BR Stages 1-4 and an AEM ran 10.90 at 130.90 on the green on radials and I had to be careful given the stock engine/head in that car. I'd think I could be in the thick of things with the RS on green.
8's first, then maybe even 200 in the mile. Then if I get bored...............

Yes, no matter how delicate you handle things it seems things like to get twisted in the heat of competetion. That is why I have decided to move on for now. Time to let the other guys take a stab at the record. Lots of great cars and set ups out there. But I'm with you DB, I'm ready for 8's...
I agree mostwanted. My new attitude has cut down on a lot of forum drama as I am letting things slide that in the past I never would have. Things do get twisted and it is very hard to tell when things are directed at "you" or just general statements. Very easy to get pissed off when it wasn't needed. For example my STREET car not having safety equipment

Most have accomplished or given nothing to the community and are filled with hatred and jealousy. Very sad... On a good note, my Buschur powered evo has been running perfect and ready to go 8's in the near future. Hope I can hold on to it

I'm glad to know they were not directed at me mostwanted. The truth is some of what you said applies to my car. The fact for me though is I do not feel a roll bar/cage belongs in a street car and the dangers of having it on the street far outweigh having one on the track. It's a matter of opinion I guess.
Just to point something out and not get off the topic of this thread. IF I added the equipment I need to be legal where my car is, it would add about 140 pounds. IF I did that I'd then get rid of my stock sized rotors/calipers, air bags, door beams, factory seats and a bunch of other easy to unbolt items. The way I figure it I'd be about 90 pounds with safety equipment than I am without it and I could still pull the "street car" card trick. Many people confuse my car for a feather weight car because it has no roll bar. I'll weigh it in front of anyone, anytime, it weighs in at 2985 with Kevin in the drivers seat. That is far from light for a car as fast as it is.
Many groups, such as ours, have classes, like we have organized at the DSM/EVO Shootout but also tag a minimum weight onto the classes.
I'm as guilty as anyone for thinking to myself "So and so's car is lighter, so and so's car is this or that." At the end of the day I don't think it all matters much. This is a hobby nearly all of us and only a very few of us are trying to turn it into a million dollar race program. Let's just run these 4 door tubs and have some fun.
Last year was a blast, this year looks like it is going to be much more competitive and it's already ruining the feel of last year, for me atleast.

LOL....You see all the guys getting booted left and right at the tracks now and this is why I went my route. So anyways, not in any way meant towards you. I love your RS and would kill to own it. If it was mine it would stay exactly the way it is...I am looking forward to the next few months. To me its just fun. I love going to the track and whooping up on the Mustang's and Camaro's. My good friend has a bad azz S/C Mustang and that is what I enjoy. I am hoping to dip into the 8's with the Forced Performance HTA86.

What I am saying is I have been racing at Moroso for over 20 years. I know everyone and even use to keep a race trailer out there with all my race bikes. But I do not get any slack at the 1/4 from tech. They have rules and have enforced them for over 20 years. Yes I have time slips to prove it
I have been booted over and over and told not to get back in line for the most trivial crap. The only way I can go to Moroso and race is if I added the appropriate safety gear for the time bracket I am in. No biggie, that doesn't bother me. But what bothers me is I keep hearing slack for making it a dedicated race car and its light and not fair to others who are competing against me for the same records. I built this car to have fun with my friends who drive domestics and just like drag racing on Friday nights. The record seeking only came about because it was par for the course. Now I want to go 8's. That's just a personal goal. And I will do whatever it takes. Sorry if that isn't humble enough.....

I love the internet
So hard to get your point out without it sounding hasty or getting misintrepted. Its near impossible to have a clean conversation
smp pm'd back and none taken....
On a funny note. Let's see who has the oldest timeslip? It must be your own
This could be fun.....
