Ok, heres the deal... when I finished running today I went and had a talk with the track operators and the owner because after reading all of your feedback and doing some research about the 60ft times I had to question the accuracy of their equipment. The first guy I spoke to said there were no problems with their equipment at all yesterday, so I showed him my timeslip and asked him if he thought my times were even physically possible and he said "yes" and told me he couldn't help me(I was looking to get a free pass for next time since 12\20 runs had screwed up times i.e. 1.3-1.5 60fts). So I went and spoke to the owner and he looked at the timeslip and noticed right away that something was wrong. The owners wife came over to see what was going on and told us that I wasn't the only person that had said something about that and that yesterday they were infact having problems with and had to adjust the 60ft sensor! At this point I inquired again about a free pass and again I was denied. They told me that I should have said something yesterday and that was the only sensor that was faulty all day so my 1\4 mile times were on point. I was fed up with their BS excuses so I left. On the way home I called the track office and spoke to someone else, explained my story and he said to ask for him the next time I went and he would get me in the gate free of charge. He then went on about how they take great pride in the fact that their track is one of the fastest and most accurate tracks in the country and assured me my other times were correct(still can't be sure of that either). So, to make a long story short, I got through my ignorance!, with all of your help. Thanks.

Now as far as today goes.... it was a fu@kin waste! As soon as I got there I put 3gals. of 110 octane in the car thinking it would help(I don't know **** about draging or race fuel ,I'm more of an autoxer) but it just made things worse. The car was bogging like crazy and hesitant the whole way down the track. Too Too rich I guess. I ran a 13.9 then a 14.2. I tried to siphen out the fuel but we couldn't get the hose in the tank, so I went to the gas station and put 6.5gals. of 93(it was either that or 89, but I didn't want too low of an octane). My first pass back at the track was a 13.6 and I couldn't get it down anymore(after another 8 passes) so I figure I was still running extremely rich.

I was at Long Island Motorsports Park.

Also, there is an autox in the parking lot of Nassau Colessium tomorrow if anyone is interested.

what were your 60ft times on your best run of 13.6? I bet they were around 1.8 and you probably had a trap of around 100mph on that run. You still have a strong car dont worry about that. I just hope that you clutch holds up.

My best run today was a 13.669@102.01, 1.844 60ft. My car felt sluggish all day though after I put in the 110, and it wasn't launching as hard as yesterday, it kept bogging. BTW, I hope my clutch holds up too, but I doubt it. Still feels good now.

Congratulations and thanks for getting back to us. THAT is a very good time and good mph for a stock Evo. You need to zap that time in your sig, because even though they say the 60' light was the only thing off, know that 13.1@100 isn't possible either. WRXes trap low, and at 13.0s, I was trapping 105mph. A 13.1 second Evo should see 106-107mph without any trouble at all. Realize that the math falls completely into place on your 1.844 60' to 13.6@102. You definitely can get a better launch in there and drop that 60' into the mid-upper 1.7 range to make a 13.4-13.5 @ ~103mph. When it gets cooler outside, it will improve even more. Don't give up, man! You're certainly a lot closer to the truth now than you were before. I think 13.6@102 is a really great time for a stock Evo!

So, I went back to the track today and ran better than ever, and still STOCK. I'll let the time slips speak for themselves. I made sure that there wasn't any BS goin on with any of the sensors, everything was working perfectly. It was just a perfect cool day.

When it smells like it, looks like it, and feels like it you really do not need to taste it too. Could we have the phone number for the track so we could talk to one of the operators. I am sure he or she would have been impressed enough to remember this event especiallly if someone got into some faces about the integrity of their operations system. It would also be nice to see a copy of the sales contract, as 30k out the door on that car is below dealer cost. There is no fool like and old fool but I doubt I am there yet.

SAEVO- Thanks and I'm not sure exactly, but I think it was an old school camaro.

evo8ya- At the line I hold it at 6500 then dump it. Iv'e tried feathering it but I've had better reseults doing it this way.

Sano- Thanks and it still feels like new!

WildRice- (631)288-1555... I paid 500 over invoice which came out to 30 and change out the door, thanks to a fellow evom member who posted that his dealer had pretty much every color sittin on the lot at that price. I'm sure they still have some at that price or better... you should give them a call also. Alcoa Mitsubishi, I dont have the number handy. When I picked up my car they had sold more EVOs than any other dealer in the country. Mine was #17 for them.
