Hy guy's I'm probably gong to be moving to the Pooler/ Savannah GA Area, I was wondering, where the closest 1/4 mile drag tracks are, and is the 1/8th mile still open in Savannah?

 

Probably Carolina Dragway (or whatever its called right now) in SC north of the nuclear site halfway to Augusta

 

Yeah I was there this past weekend at Carolina Dragway. When are you moving down?

 

Next closest is probably Silver Dollar, I heard of a new one around Vedalia but never been there, long after my time in the Savannah area.

Of course our favorite clandestine track was the old F1/USGP road course long straight on Hutchinson Island. Its now a development.

I started a thread in the regional forum, inquiring about tuner shops in the area and haven't received any replies, It dosen't seem like there is much going on in that area.

That's why I started this thread. I'm in MD now and there are tuners everywhere, it's like we dominate up here, it's too easy to find tracks, or credible shops.

I'm moving down to Savannah around November, were having a house built. So basically whenever it's finnished.

 

South Georgia Motorsports Park (near Valdosta) is about 3.5 hours from Savannah.

 

This is messed up, I have to find a closer track than that! an hour tops! this is a bit discouraging!

 

I drive 2+ hours to get there lol.

 

Yeah right now I'm 30 minutes from Capitol Raceway, and 45 minutes from (MIR) Maryland International Raceway. It sucks I'll be so much farther from a track. Oh well.
