slow driver

Ran at the Indy HP street car shootout over the weekend. figured id post up my times
full weight 04 evo VIII SSL. 272 cams, all hard piping, turboxs intercooler, 750 injectors, walbro 255, tune, stock turbo. MBC set at 20 psi.
12.935@107.01 1.928 60'
13.090@104.74 1.793
12.891@108.22 1.989
12.838@107.75 1.878
13.320@106.23 1.908 (missed 2nd, lol)

was a fun event, car would be a bit faster if it didnt have a screw loose behind the steering wheel. flame on

Forget the times, my first thought is why are the trap speeds so low for those mods? Then I see your MBC is set at 20psi? Get a good tune and also bump the psi up to about 23. You should easily be trapping 110+.

As for the driving, it's not all that bad. You did cut a 1.7 60', but was not a good run. Maybe you missed a gear? I think you've got another tenth or two if you get a good run.

But if you get that boost up, you could see 12.5's or lower...

car was tuned by ams when the previous owner had it. not sure if he had them dyno tune it, or just a base flash, i turned it up a lil bit after driving it for about a month, and anything over 20 psi and it just goes WAY rich (below 10 AFR) and doesnt go fast at all (which made no sense, i figured if i ran higher boost it would bring the AFR up, not down, but who knows).
on the 13.09 run i missed 3rd. didnt slow me down too much tho it looks like.

You're right, more boost should lean it out. I would get it on the dyno if I were you to really see what's happening. Don't trust what someone else did. Get it tuned and enjoy.

i called AMS and they said that they put the cams, springs and retainers in and tuned it, but i didnt think to ask what type of tune. itll prolly be going up to chi-town this winter at some point

More boost makes it hit different load cells, so it's not really going to lean it out if the car was tuned for 20 psi and the cells beyond that are "safety from overboosting".

Trap speeds do seem low for those mods. I would look into getting a tune as well.

Feel free to PM me if you need anything.
