First Time at the Track [qm vid]

I took my car to the track to run the quarter for the first time since I got it. The results were...meh. To make a long story short, in my best run I miss-shifted 2nd and ran a 13.6 @ 104 mph.

My car is ~400whp so I think I should be running mid 12s if I can keep my head in the game. I have no problem driving on the street, but for some reason on the track I start shifting like a broken automatic in a Ford F150. Most people I've talked to have all said that they had an equally nerve-wracking experience their first time at the track, so that makes me feel a little better.

I had a 1.71 60' which I've been told is pretty good. I have a stock clutch with ~42k miles.

Anyone else **** up at the track their first time?

Enough talk...here's the vid:

And please, laugh at my wing so I can laugh at how many times you've been pulled over and I haven't. I'm thinking about going wingless but that is a discussion for another time/place.

400hp is actually a mid 11 to low 11 second pass with a decent driver.

Mod list?

Ur trap speed is not indicative of a 400whp evo unless you weigh 900 pounds

Hey I noticed that your from norcal are you on EE? just a few ?'s if you don't mind just wondering who tuned the car and where did you dyno the 400whp from your mod list with your mods with an evo 8 on one of our mustang dyno's here in the Bay, would usually be putting down anywhere from 280-300whp. There are a few 400whp evo's here in the area that have been doing 11.5's at 120mph and these cars are on e85 boosting 28+ so I was just curious sorry to put a damper on the situation but the numbers don't compute.

yeah theres not a chance that car would hit even 350 on one of the norcal mustang dyno's. Its time to give up on all that vishnu garbage and head on over to GST. BTW are you in sonoma county? I see a car similar to your around all the time.

Your 60' is pretty good. When you got reflashed did they raise your 2 step? That'll let you leave a little harder. Then you only need to work on the next 1260'. I know a bunch of guys that went faster than 13.6 on a bone stock car. But to answer your original question, yes the first time at the track will be nerve-wracking. I'm in the same situation as you. I can drive great any day of the week, but when you put me on a track all of the sudden I shift worse than a teenager on the first day of driver's ed.

He isnt. theres no way to possibly come close to 400whp on 91oct and the stock turbo. Just cant happen.

vishnu v390 (hks 272s, hks cam gears, full 3" exhaust, vishnu xflash)
walbro 255
10.5 hotside

boosting 23psi on 91

is not going to give you anywhere near 400awhp....

im around 400-420awhp at 32psi....
who ever told you 400 lied....unless they were estimating power at the crank.
