If my POS AEM comes back in time I will be going.

I'm still running my Shearer t67 p-trim turbo kit, but I might switch to a forward facing turbo kit soon and shoot for bigger numbers.

 

I've been to the last three events that they had (actually won awd/rwd class in my talon in 2008). The event is setup by Georgiadsm.com every year. This is the first year where I think they had two drag events.

 

GADSM usually has 2 showdowns, one in spring and one in the fall "except" for last year. They skipped one last year to get things organized better for this years events.


Spring showdown is hot as ***** and the fall showdown could be hot or nice and cool. Hope for cool!

 

From what I understand there is quite a nice selection of cars attending. Guys from Florida to Texas are making the trip.

 

people just don't undertand how hot it gets down here in the spring at that event. I thought they usually have an event at Road Atlanta in the fall or something.

 

We usually have a roadcourse event once a year in Alabama. There's always 2 drag races though. Like Phil said, one in Fall and one in Spring. www.gadsm.org is the Georgia board website. We are expecting over 1000 people this time. We need some Mitsu representation. Bring those Evo's damn it!

Well, I couldn't race. My car just got finished Saturday from being down for 4 months and on the test drive the new RS transfer case was making some weird noises while making turns. I didn't want to risk it so after test driving 1 1/2 miles I turned around and drove right back to the shop. It felt fine driving straight, but not worth the risk driving it that far to the track.

Sucks because I was so looking forward to competing today. I heard a 13 sec pass won AWD class.

I'm sure people would have rather seen a high 9 sec Evo win instead. I'll be ready for next year!

 

They put me in modified street class and i wanted to change it into awd but they wouldnt. All i have is full i/c piping, fuel pump, tbe, and ams bc and they had me against 11 sec hondas and some nice cars. My best run was a 12.7@108mph with a 1.69 60 ft. If anyone was there im sure you seen me witht the yellow evo 8 and laughed when i staged past the tree. This was my first time there and on a 1/4 mile track and i was wondering how the hell i was going to see the tree light up when it was next to my car, lol. It was funny and gave everyone a laugh. I did drive 3.5 hours and went straight to the staging lanes and ran a 12.8@108 with a 1.8 60ft so i was happy with that. Nice cars were there and CFT supra, a v6TT mustang, and camaro running low and mid 9's were nasty. Th CFT supra time didnt post but it looked faster than the mustang and stang.

 

If you're referring to the black supra with the chute, that isn't CFT's car. Clark owns that car and he does most of the work on his own car. He has TopSpeed do the tuning and rest.

I believe CFT had the low 10 sec Galant VR4.

 

Oh my bad, i thought i heard someone say it was a cft supra, i guess they were wrong. Still was a nice *** car and that **** hauled *** when he left the tree.

 

Yeah, Clark normally runs 8's in the Supra. I believe his best time is 8.7.

 

I'm so pissed that I missed this event. I cant believe that AWD was won running a 13 sec pass. I think it was in a vr4. Well hopefully I will make it back in the spring. I might try to go to that event in montgomery also in October.

 

Oct 18th is Import Face-off at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce.
