Fontana speed way (auto club dragway) They have street legal events every month or so. The track isnt the best but its better than nothing.

Yeah, Fontana is about your only local choice. I've lived in SoCal all my life and have seen drag strips close one by one throughout the years. I occasionally make the drive up to Famoso in Bakersfield when I want to run at a good track.

Yes Fontana is a 1/4 mile track. It's a little over 1000 foot in elevation, but tends to be slower than some of the other 1/4 mile tracks around. They are running twilight drags for the first time since they re-opened the new track. Took them years to get some lights up for night racing. Here's a link to their website:http://www.autoclubspeedway.com/Tick...b-Dragway.aspx.

Seriously!

They just started moving the summer races up here in NorCal to evenings as well and i'm very happy for that.

Not so fun to race when the temps are over 103*

I hope to be making a trip down to Fontana for both BOTI and the IDRC event later this summer maybe i'll see some of you there

Famoso is 120 miles away from where I live in So Cal. Nice track, in fact way better than Fontana but too far away to make it in time for night drags.

Where I go, the Redding drag strip up here in northern Nor Cal, they always start at 6pm and race till about 10-12pm. Way better then running in the middle of the day.

Well you're lucky up north. We don't have that luxury here in So Cal L.A. area. We used to have night racing before they closed LACR a couple of years ago. In the 90's we used to have Brotherhood/Terminal Island dragstrip that would race until 12 midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. We really have nothing good in weekly 1/4 mile racing anymore.

Too bad it's too long of a hike to get up there

Sac is far enough already

Now that the car is cert'd though i can make the easy-going 45 min trip to Infineon Raceway every Wed night Just too bad they enforce a noise db limit

And people wonder why there is still a street racing problem in all of CA
