I don't think a 9 turbo would do much more, definitly not mid 10s. It would proably take a tenth off or so. Ryu is right, they aren't that much different in size, especially from a VIII turbo with the 10.5 hotside. The IX turbo is slightly larger, but the biggest difference is the larger compressor side for anti-surge junk.

strange my 03 GSR was about 3080 w/o me and 1/2 tank of fuel and nothing was taken out, i would of expected a RS to be lighter.

i really need hoosiers and run my car at a lower elevation cause your beating my times with 100 less hp and i consider myself a pretty decent driver

your driving the **** out of that thing for sure!

True...forgot he was using the 10.5 hotside...Well maybe if he did some more weight reduction, since his car is still pretty heavy & went to a ported 9 turbo he may he something closer to mid 10s...

yea i dunno, they are SCCA scales at a Pro solo event so i highly doubt they are wrong. there were gutted RS's there in the 2500-2700 range

Well, my RS is in that range, but it's 2594 (when the street tires are on), and it is tube front end, fuel cell, aluminum rear firewall, carbon fiber seat, dry carbon hood, lightweight brake car I got down to 2530 with one seat and slicks on, but without doing what Brian did, and removing the headlights and going lexan windows, she's not getting much lighter.

I got my '03 down to ~2790 last year, but that was with -40 pounds from coilovers, -80 pounds from AMS lightweight brakes, -10 from cf trunk, and -65 from slicks, -30 from removing the seats.

damn thats light, i know the cars at pro solo were gutted to hell, tin cans for sure lol

to go 10.93 at over 3000lbs is damn good, most cars around here that do those times are making over 500awhp, then again we have some higher elevation. its obvious he is driving the **** out of it. id honestly be surprised if my car could do those times even with hoosiers

Not a problem at all. Its been fun to see this project proceed as it has. Honestly Billy hasnt taken any weight out of it, in fact that cage has added some back in. Last time it was here we gave Billy the full what can go and how much it weighs speech

Now we get to go to a bigger turbo?
