Quote: A good chance of it, I am not certain though. I know they were 2200 whp Ecotec motors from the GM-R program. One of the drivers was a chick

This in no way takes away form this amazing accomplishment though!
Quote: Pretty crazy to think we can't go this fast with 4 wheel drive...

Most def running methanol i actually have a few vids of those cars when then made it out to CA a few years ago and they really don't count as they fall into the realm of the PRO-FWD classes with motor/trans layouts that would never work excepet in a specific tube frame chassis.

Very very impressive to see cars like that go down the 1320 though

If i can find the old vid i'll post it up

Quote: because awd is more moving parts, and there is more power lost because of the drivetrain.
When you are making enough power to spin all the way past the eighth mile it's not about making more power it's about getting it to the ground.

The GM cars were all on methanol, but nowhere near 2200hp either. The highest number I ever heard tossed around was 1700hp (crankshaft). I think the fastest trap speed they went in the ProFWD cars was 218mph and those cars were pretty light. Absolutely amazing cars though, definitely!
