9.79 @ 152 MPH on All Season tires
9.79 @ 152 MPH on All Season tires
At the Shootout I ran into head gasket issues from the car previously overheating due to a faulty hose clamp. I was trying to set up my 2 stage boost controler and 2 step so I could just mash the throttle and let the car do the work. Keep in mind this is on 225/50 16 Sumitomo all season tires. Well it didn't work out so good, and the best pass was a crappy 10.20@ 151 mph with a sucky 1.89 60 ft.
As soon as I got home I pulled the head, had it cleaned up and threw a new MLS gasket in. Then I looked at the logs, made some more adjustments and decided to drive the car as if it was a FWD to get it to leave as smooth and hard as possible. At 38 psi on E85 with the all season tires it went 9.79 @ 152 mph with a 1.61 60 ft.
On the next pass I made some more tweaks and decided to try and launch a little harder, the T-case didn't like that one and snapped like a twig. The crazy thing is it snapped as soon as I let out the clutch and still went 1.7 in the 60 ft. I know with a built T-case and axles 1.5's on these tires won't be hard to do. I also can run another 7 psi of boost once I have a drive train that can handle it.
Thanks to www.douglasautoworks.com for all of there hard work this season.

Thanks guys. Devin, I never thought it would even try to hook up that good on all season tires. I know mid to high 9's isn't too impressive nowadays, but in a full interior real street tire car it's not at easy as it seems.
