20th Annual DSM/EVO Shootout
David, I'm planning on running the EE class with my car. It has full interior and exterior, with the exception of the two drip panels or trim strips (whatever people call them) that run along from front to back of the car. Is that ok? One of them flew completely off @ 140+, the other bent in half at the track. I'm afraid I won't have time to get those replaced.

You really think so? Car is no where near fast enough to be in the Q16 class, i would not bother entering that class. Its a street car and has everything required except for those trim panels... waste of money to buy more as they'll probably get destroyed again. It used to be a salvage car, so some areas that the clips attach too are non-existent

I highly doubt that. those panels are notorious for lifting at high MPH. there will be other evos with them missing or damaged.
i had to replace the entire driver side on my car. plus they weight next to nothing.

i used stronger clips on mine and it has been ok since.. but its a dumb design.
when you're there look at other evos you'll see missing panels or damaged.. they are a crappy design the wind gets up under the front plastic pieces and it flys off around 130-140mph after so many times..

I'm excited for this year, should be a great time. Where all are folks staying at?
I will let it slide on those pieces of trim. I have no idea how they could fly off, my car has been to probably 170 mph multiple times and our black car is verified over 170 mph and neither have ever lost them.
