20th Annual DSM/EVO Shootout
Is the camping at the track first come first served? I see the prices for event by event or day by day but I dont see a price for the whole weekend...is there one? I plan on autoxing and spectating on Sunday how will that work as a weekend wrist band?
There NEVER was a stock turbo class for the EVO's it's always been Stock Appearing. No you do not have to run a MAF.
Tires legal for Evo Eliminator are DOT approved bias ply drag tires. I do not have a list, you need a DOT approved tire for the class. A slick is not DOT approved.
Camping, there is enough room for everyone. The passes for the weekend are simple, you pay in advance for whatever it is you want to do, they give you a wrist band.

I got a call today from the manager of Motel 6. They want their entire hotel booked with Shootout participants!! She has offered special rates for you guys and here they are:
16th, $46.74
17th and 18th, $80.74
19th, $38.24
These rates do not include tax. I think it's pretty outstanding that they called and want the hotel booked. This hotel is in Milan, about 6 miles north of Norwalk.

I REALLY wish I would have seen this earlier that is a great price I'm paying twice that much!!!!
We are doing some cool custom trophies based on the feedback we got on our Facebook page.
The Autocross only, Dyno King and Brackets 1 and 2 will be awarded standard type drag racing trophies like we've used in the past.
The Max Effort MD/ME, DST, DSE, EE, ESA, Quick Classes are all going to be awarded a custom Piston/Rod trophy we are actually putting together at the shop, very cool and the first time we've done this. I got the idea from an article on old trophies in Hot Rod Magazine. Posted a poll on the BR Facebook page and had a tremendous amount of people ask for the custom trophy.
It's a piston/rod, out of some type of Mitsubishi that we powder coated Gold, Silver and Bronze. On the big end of the rod we are going to attach a plate with the event name, class and then the 1st, 2nd or 3rd will show through the rod bearing hole in the rod. I think it's just cool as hell and want to win one myself!!
I will post pics as soon as we get the first ones finished.

Quick question Dave, i remember reading somewhere that in the stock appearing class the cars need to have a minimum rating of a 100 treadwear.
i'll be competing in the class with a nitto nt555R drag radial. i'm OK and will pass tech for that class right?
NVM, read the first post and answered my own question lol
so excited to participate in stock appearing!!!

The last two classes for the event have been sponsored! Bracket 1 and Bracket 2 have been sponsored by LMR Motorsports. The company buys close-outs, used parts and overstock items from hundreds of manufactures and sells them out at deep discounts. They are even a new dealer of Buschur Racing. Stop by their Facebook page and "like" them. They sell parts for EVERYTHING. LMR-Motorsports is the page on Facebook.
