Okay so I have been searching and reading and I think I know what all I need but wanted to hear from people with experience here. I know I will need the 6pt roll bar the 5pt harnesses, the sfi approved clutch and flywheel, sfi harmonic balancer, scatter shield. Do i need a drive shaft loop? what about steel valve stems or wheel studs? anything i am missing? Thanks for the advice in advance!
From my experience, every track is going to vary. The cage is obvious, clutch, fly and scatter shield not soo much. Of the tracks I have been to the cage, harness manufactore date, and helmet were the biggies. If you are only going to a certain track it might be best to ask. I actually have a threespeed scatter shield, and a loop that never made it on the car and rides along in the trailer

right on, yeah that is kinda what i figured that the cage and the harness would be the big ones. the cage is a lot more expensive than i originally planned though :/
6 pt, harnesses, and a scattersheild you should be good to go down to 10.0 at most NHRA tracks.
IHRA tracks are alot more lenient as the safety standards per ET are more relaxed.

I just installed a loop and scatter. For most tracks around here (they just closed the only one that didnt care) they require that stuff. The think the difference is usually NHRA versus IHRA rules.
