I got lucky enough to watch and be a part of an upcoming episode of BBC Top Gear where they once again drive across the US. They made a stop at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Drag Strip where Jeremy Clarkson was driving an LFA, Hammond had the new Viper and May was in an Aston Martin Vanquish.

They invited a local car club, which was a very poor representation of Vegas, and some off-duty/retired cops with police badged drag cars. I guess they were going for a Street Racer vs Cops theme. Then they joined in and started racing everyone. It was an awesome time until someone blew up their interga on the line getting fluid all over. I was next up hoping to race Clarkson in an LFA(talk about crossing something off your bucket list),but with the cleanup taking for ever the Top Gear crew decided to call it a night.

Where was the 700hp 10 sec evos?

 

There are plenty of Evos in the US that would wax anyone of those exotic cars. Impressed um no. Their only chance would be in a top speed highway run and even then...

Ya none of the fast Evos in town were there, but it awesome just to be there.

Ya they were all real laid back, May especially was just hanging out talking with everyone. Clarkson and Hammond were kept busy doing a few on camera interviews with some of the drivers who's car they found interesting. My wife got pics with each of

 

Sure...but I am damn proud to own an Evo...which I'd venture to say is the best production car dollar for dollar.

Sucks too. We have quite a few Evos out here that trap 130+ and a couple deep in the 140's. Would've been fun to stomp some exotics.

Yeah, my evo x only runs 12s. When I'm part of the 11sec club, I wouldve been there.

It's funny how a viper got smoked by that crossfire though! Hahaha! And the evo vs Lexus was a close one! I will be looking out for the top gear episode!
