Alright guys, I got the Curt brown manifold on the car. I did a pull so we we could overlay the results vs the f1i however it misfired after 6k and had a freeze plug pop out.. it'll be a few days before I get a new log, so here's the results comparing low & mid range. Pretty good huh? I don't think its going to loose much up top at all.

No tuning was done. 43 psi.

Looks like its gonna be 40whp difference when it plateaus... that is a big gain in the mid/low range, but for drag racing I would prefer the ams or magnus. Will see once the results are final.

Good stuff man, thanks.

Scott send me the log of the stock intake mani then when you get a chance today. yes that sucks the freeze plug came out, the machine shop maybe didn't put it in properly? or did you not have the studs tq'ed down enough on the head?

i hope its one where u can easy access it and don't have to yank the engine out to put it in.

i really want to see the results now of the stock intake mani, that torque curve looks ridiculous.

i think VD screwed the log, if not that is insane. it clearly out spooled the crap out of the f1i thats for sure.

there's really no way to tell whats going on, because once you get out of it with vd, it always makes it look like its dropping power like it does in his overlay he posted.

you're seeing it like this right? (i photoshopped it) lol

i think it looks a little unnatural as it is the tq and hp look to close together and should have a wider spread.

we will see once he fixes the freeze plug.

what is 100% not debatable in his graph , is the car spooled up way quicker.

Tom, it's the one above the trans on drivers side so easily accessable. I sent you the log last night over aim while you were away.

I got it. Also the stock intake mani graph that Scott posted has a big inflated spike with smoothing 0 so its not accurate guys. we will get accurate results soon on lower boost. 43psi is to much for the street right now.

Understandable. I was estimating the outcome. That OEM ported is definitely gonna help transit response though.

Hope everything gets sorted out with no issues Scott.

If a stock intake doesn't make more low/mid than the big plenum short runner intakes out there then there is a liar running the dyno...........and I've seen a bunch of those!hahaha

Graph looks right to me for the gains.

Better put a head gasket on the car, freeze plugs don't pop out from standard coolant pressure.

ya just looking at the boost curve on both, the stock intake mani really killed it in the spool dept, so that is easy hp/tq gains. i think the misfire around 5400rpm is what caused it to inflate past there.

we shouldn't have done a back to back test with so much boost. we have some stuff from the f1i at 33psi , so we will just use that as a comparison on the stock intake mani once he sorts the car out.

what happened was, Scott loaded the wrong rom from last year with high boost, and since he did the f1i at high boost and had already removed it and put the stock intake mani back on i wanted a true
back to back without touching the tune. he didnt want to do it with the high boost on the stock intake mani, he initially just wanted to use the older f1i pull we did at 33psi from a few months ago.
but i talked him into doing the high boost on the stock intake mani because i wanted results to see if i wanted to switch my manifold also.

i feel bad for having him do the high boost pull on the stock intake mani and seeing the plug pop out.

I got the new freeze plug in, compression is in check, leak down is in check, studs took 5 more lbs of tq but that's about it (however that could be the difference from an inaccurate tq wrench). Car is in tip top shape and made excellent power last night at 33-35psi up top. We compared it to a pull from the F1i at 33psi, however we are not sure if the numbers from the curt brown were accurate as they were a little extreme it seemed. I will be doing another log today to confirm.

We all know for a FACT, it spools faster, it makes a lot more TQ, and the car in general drives nicer.
