best evo 8 1/4 mile time in the usa?

is it 11.6? by alfriedesq?

i see a lot of companies are preparing their turbo kits. is anyone actually proving their performance numbers by making a pass?

11.6 seems a bit dismal considering the number of tuners shouting about there kits and how huge their turbo's are.

when are we going to see real results?

if anyone really has big power, certainly they would go test it out for real on the track right?

if you use a bhp calculator, like this one:

http://www.turbofast.com.au/drag.html

and use 3200 lbs, i think that means the most powerful evo in the states is only 400 hp?

what am i missing here?

Definetly, we need to wait for the midwest to thaw. AMS had an Evo that put down 535 to the wheels. I don't think they ever dragged it either. That probably would of done better than 11.6 since their car did 11.85 on the stock turbo making less power

This spring/summer is going to be VERY interesting. Many shops are getting their cars ready along with their turbokits. The evo drag scene should be pretty interesting soon...

Real racers dont go online unless there sellin something.

A lot of evos are running fast times. You just don't hear about it all. Online does not cover everything.

In the March issue of Modified Mag there are two articles, one on a 500whp evo 8 and the other on the ams evo 8 that put down 533whp at 25.5 psi and 551whp at 27 psi. I think the ams evo8 will put down some nasty numbers on the track as their car is not being set up to be a dyno queen but rather a race car and its still putting down nice numbers on the dyno.
